  • • As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer in Security Operations at General Motors, you will play a critical role in protecting the company’s global information assets, networks, and infrastructure from evolving cyber threats by designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable platforms that integrate advanced technologies like AI and data enrichment into security operations.
  • • You will design, develop, and maintain security-focused platforms using scripting languages, C++, and Rust; implement modern development practices including CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile; and build scalable solutions across Linux-based environments and cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ensure resilient and efficient delivery of security capabilities.
  • • You will integrate diverse systems via APIs, webhooks, and other protocols, develop and maintain integrations with AI-driven tools and data enrichment platforms to enhance SecOps capabilities, and ensure interoperability across heterogeneous environments and security tools to strengthen threat detection and response.
  • • You will collaborate with SecOps teams to design and implement advanced monitoring, detection, and response solutions; troubleshoot complex distributed systems; resolve performance, reliability, and security issues; and apply cybersecurity best practices to safeguard infrastructure and applications.
  • • You will architect and manage cloud-based environments with a focus on security and scalability; optimize Linux OS and kernel-level configurations for performance and resilience; and automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to support enterprise-scale security operations.
  • • You will work within GM’s Cybersecurity Team, which is dedicated to proactively defending the enterprise through strategic leadership, technical excellence, and innovative risk management, contributing to a culture of resilience and innovation across one of the world’s largest automotive and mobility companies.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in securing cloud-native and hybrid infrastructures, gain hands-on experience integrating AI into security workflows, and develop leadership capabilities by influencing enterprise-wide security initiatives and mentoring peers through technical excellence and collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • • 7+ years in systems development with a proven track record of delivering complex solutions.
  • • Minimum 4+ years in SecOps or cybersecurity-focused roles.
  • • Strong programming skills in scripting languages, C++, and Rust.
  • • Solid understanding of Linux OS internals and kernel-level operations.
  • • Hands-on experience with cloud development and architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
  • • Experience integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, and other protocols.
  • • Familiarity with AI-driven integrations and data enrichment workflows.
  • • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • • Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
