• • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Data Engineer to become an integral part of our dynamic Insights team. In this role, you will be deeply involved in hands-on development, writing production-grade code, architecting, building, and meticulously maintaining robust data pipelines. Your primary focus will be on delivering features that translate raw, complex data into actionable intelligence for our valued clients. You will have the opportunity to engage with the entire project lifecycle, from the initial conceptualization and problem definition stages through to successful deployment and ongoing support.
• • A core aspect of this position is a commitment to engineering excellence. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong dedication to code quality, ensuring comprehensive testing, implementing effective observability strategies, establishing rigorous data quality checks, and producing clean, maintainable code. This role is not about high-level platform architecture; instead, it emphasizes the end-to-end ownership and development of data pipelines. • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include writing production code, predominantly in Python, to construct and maintain the critical data pipelines that underpin our suite of Insights products. You will take full ownership of your projects, encompassing a deep understanding of the relevant data domains, the design of pragmatic and effective solutions, the successful deployment of these solutions, and their ongoing operational reliability. This includes proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to ensure seamless performance.
• • You will be a key contributor to driving technical quality across the team. This involves championing and implementing strong software engineering practices such as comprehensive unit and integration testing, robust monitoring and alerting for observability, implementing automated data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity, and adhering to best practices for writing clean, modular, and maintainable code. This ensures that our data products are not only functional but also reliable and scalable.
• • Collaboration is central to success at Codat. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other Engineering stakeholders. This collaborative environment will allow you to actively shape the direction of our products, influence technical decisions, and contribute to defining what we build and the most effective ways to build it. Your insights will be crucial in aligning technical solutions with business objectives.
