đź“‹ Description
- • As the Senior Data Engineering & Analytics Platform Lead at Simply Protein for Pets (SPFP), you will be instrumental in shaping and executing our data strategy. This pivotal role is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of robust data pipeline development and sophisticated data modeling, ensuring that our analytics and reporting capabilities are not only functional but also scalable and insightful.
- • You will be entrusted with the end-to-end ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining our critical data pipelines and dimensional data models. This involves a dual focus: building reliable ingestion pipelines to bring in raw data from various sources, and transforming that data into structured, analysis-ready datasets using proven dimensional modeling techniques, such as the star schema.
- • Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will work closely with a diverse group of stakeholders, including business leaders, data analysts, and external third-party partners. Your ability to translate complex reporting and analytics needs into practical, maintainable, and scalable data solutions will be paramount. Furthermore, you will contribute significantly to guiding our long-term platform and cloud architecture decisions, ensuring our data infrastructure is future-proof.
- • In the realm of Data Platform Implementation, your responsibilities will extend to building, deploying, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines that are the backbone of our analytics and reporting functions. You will actively participate in crucial cloud architecture discussions, focusing on aspects like scalability, cost optimization, and overall system reliability.
- • Ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and reliability of our data platform will be a core tenet of your work. You will be expected to proactively identify and implement improvements to existing pipelines and workflows, adapting them to meet the evolving demands of our growing business.
- • A strong commitment to best practices in software engineering is essential. This includes driving excellence in coding standards, implementing rigorous testing methodologies, and establishing robust CI/CD processes to ensure efficient and reliable deployments.
- • You will also be tasked with identifying and championing opportunities to enhance our engineering processes and bolster the overall reliability of our data systems, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- • Within Data Engineering & Transformation, you will develop, maintain, and optimize data ingestion pipelines, drawing data from a variety of sources including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, e-commerce marketplaces, and other vital operational systems. The accuracy and efficiency of these pipelines are critical to our business operations.
- • A significant part of your role will involve implementing sophisticated transformation logic and dimensional modeling techniques to produce structured datasets that are optimized for analytical querying and reporting.
- • Maintaining clear, comprehensive documentation for all data flows, transformations, and dependencies is crucial for transparency and knowledge sharing across the team and the wider organization.
- • In terms of Data Quality & Reliability, you will be responsible for actively monitoring all data pipelines, promptly resolving any failures or anomalies that arise. Developing robust data quality checks, reconciliation processes, and effective error-handling frameworks will be essential to guarantee the integrity and trustworthiness of our data.
- • Regarding Systems & ERP Integration, you will implement and maintain critical data integrations with various business systems. This includes ensuring seamless data flow with e-commerce platforms, online marketplaces, marketing automation tools, and logistics partners, all of which are vital for our operational efficiency.
- • Your role as a Business Partner will involve working collaboratively with functional leaders across the organization to deeply understand their data and reporting requirements. You will play a key role in shaping technical decisions, ensuring that proposed solutions are not only technically sound but also fully aligned with overarching business objectives and strategies.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on a growing company in the pet nutrition industry, leveraging data to drive informed decisions and enhance our product offerings and customer experiences.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
- • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles.
- • Proven hands-on experience in building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
- • Proficiency with modern ETL/ELT tools, with a strong emphasis on dbt.
- • Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Snowflake or AWS Redshift.
- • Strong command of SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering, such as Python.
- • Solid understanding and practical experience with dimensional modeling concepts, including star schema design.
- • Experience consuming and integrating with RESTful APIs from various platforms (e.g., Shopify, NetSuite, e-commerce marketplaces).
- • Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration and scheduling frameworks, such as Airflow.
- • Prior experience working with ERP data (NetSuite preferred) and e-commerce/marketplace systems is highly advantageous.
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- • Proactive, self-directed working style with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary range of $140,000 - $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
- • Eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus, rewarding your contributions to the company's success.
- • Fully remote work arrangement, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
- • Opportunity to work with a growing and innovative company in the pet nutrition sector.
