📋 Description

• As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines that power both critical analytics and innovative product features for our global enterprise clients and the thousands of nonprofits we support.
• You will contribute significantly to our dbt analytics layer, taking ownership of establishing best practices, implementing core data models, and ensuring the consistency, accuracy, and trustworthiness of key business metrics that drive strategic decisions.
• This role involves shaping and maintaining our data platform infrastructure, leveraging tools like Terraform and Kubernetes, with a focus on ensuring high availability, seamless scalability to accommodate our rapid growth, and comprehensive observability for proactive issue detection and resolution.
• A key aspect of your contribution will be leading the adoption and implementation of data quality, data governance, and data monitoring frameworks, fostering a culture of confidence and reliability in our data assets across the organization.
• You will act as a technical leader and mentor for other engineers, actively contributing to raising the overall engineering standards, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practices within the data team.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and business stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, translating complex business problems into effective technical solutions and actionable insights that drive product innovation and strategic growth.
• Work in tandem with the broader engineering team to seamlessly embed data flows and data-driven functionalities into our core product architecture, ensuring data is a first-class citizen.
• Partner with our infrastructure platform engineers to design and implement cloud-native, cost-efficient, and highly performant data systems that can scale with our ambitious vision.
• Within your first 3 months, success will be measured by a demonstrable reduction in data pipeline breakages and the associated context switching, achieving a strong understanding of our managed data infrastructure, and seeing documented standards for data modeling, orchestration, and testing actively adopted by the team.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Deep expertise in SQL and Python, with proven experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with dbt in production environments, including modeling for analytics teams.
• Strong track record of working with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
• Ability to translate business problems into robust technical solutions.
