Senior Data Engineer

📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end data architecture for MoneyHero Group’s 9.8 million monthly unique users across Singapore, Hong Kong S.A.R., Philippines, Taiwan, and Malaysia. You will design, build, and scale the data pipelines that power our comparison platform and enable 270+ commercial partners to make data-driven decisions in real time.
• • Lead a distributed team of data engineers, setting technical direction, code-quality standards, and delivery cadence. You will mentor engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and career development plans while fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
• • Architect cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure that ingests, transforms, and serves petabyte-scale clickstream, transactional, and third-party data. You will evaluate and implement modern storage layers (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), stream-processing frameworks (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink), and orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster) to guarantee sub-second query performance.
• • Establish enterprise-grade data governance, security, and privacy controls that satisfy regional regulations (PDPA, GDPR, PDPO) and internal risk policies. You will define data cataloging, lineage, quality SLAs, and automated testing strategies that give stakeholders confidence in every dashboard, model, and API.
• • Partner with data scientists, product managers, and commercial teams to translate business questions into scalable data products. From funnel attribution to credit-risk scoring, you will prototype new datasets, expose feature stores, and A/B-test models that directly impact revenue and user experience.
• • Optimize cost and performance across the entire data stack. You will monitor spend, right-size clusters, implement incremental ETL patterns, and champion data lifecycle policies that cut storage costs without compromising analytical depth.
• • Drive incident response and disaster-recovery planning for critical data workflows. You will create runbooks, lead blameless post-mortems, and ensure 99.9 % pipeline availability during high-traffic campaigns and product launches.
• • Evangelize data literacy across the organization. You will host internal tech talks, create reusable SQL snippets and dbt packages, and build self-service BI tools that empower non-technical users to answer their own questions safely.
• • Stay ahead of industry trends—evaluate lakehouse architectures, real-time ML feature pipelines, and privacy-enhancing technologies—and present quarterly tech-radar updates to engineering leadership that shape our three-year data roadmap.
• • Champion a remote-first culture across time zones. You will document decisions in Notion, run asynchronous stand-ups in Slack, and travel (when safe) to regional hubs for quarterly planning summits that strengthen team cohesion.
