- • Collaborate with blockchain engineers to index blockchain data and create robust, high-performance data pipelines capable of handling high-volume, low-latency transaction streams.
- • Efficiently parse and index diverse blockchain data formats, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and timely availability for downstream analytics and ecosystem applications.
- • Document technical processes, data models, and pipeline architectures to enable seamless knowledge transfer and maintainability across engineering teams.
- • Work closely with the Solana Improvement Document (SIP) process to evaluate and implement data pipeline changes, ensuring no regressions occur during testing or deployment in live network environments.
- • Design and maintain metrics infrastructure to calculate and track critical ecosystem indicators including decentralization scores, transaction inclusion performance, and economic modeling metrics.
- • Partner with product and research teams to translate complex blockchain data into actionable insights that inform protocol upgrades, application development, and network optimization.
- • Build and optimize scalable data storage and retrieval systems using big data frameworks such as Spark, Iceberg, Polars, or Delta-rs to handle petabyte-scale blockchain datasets.
- • Integrate and manage data ingestion pipelines using distributed messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub to ensure reliable, ordered delivery of real-time transaction events.
- • Deploy and maintain data warehousing solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using tools such as ClickHouse, Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery to support analytical and operational reporting.
- • Ensure data pipelines are fault-tolerant, observable, and self-healing, implementing monitoring, alerting, and retry logic to maintain uptime and data consistency across distributed systems.
- • Contribute to the broader Solana ecosystem by aligning data infrastructure improvements with community-driven development goals and protocol evolution.
- • Support the development of data-driven decision-making tools used by developers, validators, and app builders to improve user experience and network efficiency.
- • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and cross-team syncs to align data engineering practices with core protocol development and security standards.
- • Continuously optimize pipeline performance to reduce latency and computational cost while maintaining data quality standards for mission-critical network metrics.
- • Stay current with advancements in blockchain data structures, consensus mechanism outputs, and distributed systems research to enhance the foundation’s data capabilities.
- • Proactively identify gaps in data coverage or quality and propose technical solutions to improve the completeness and reliability of ecosystem analytics.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related roles
- • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and efficient data processing techniques
- • Familiarity with blockchain technologies, including transaction data, smart contracts, and consensus mechanisms
- • Strong understanding in one of the following big data frameworks: Spark, Iceberg, Polars, or Delta-rs
- • Proficient in big data and pipelining tools (Clickhouse, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Kafka, Rabbit MQ, Pub/Sub)
- • Experience with distributed data systems and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
