- • As part of our dynamic team, you will be instrumental in managing and delivering world-class data assets. This includes establishing and maintaining data standards, ensuring policy compliance, fostering strategic partnerships, and developing robust pipelines and self-service tools that empower our business units.
- • Your core mission will be to leverage data to fuel growth, driving revenue in our core business and exploring new business model opportunities. You will be at the forefront of transforming raw data into valuable, actionable assets that our Data Scientists and Analysts can rely on.
- • You will contribute significantly to an advanced orchestration layer, managing complex data transformations. This involves refining data from its source into targeted, valuable data assets, ensuring they are consumed in a governed and efficient manner.
- • Collaboration is key: you will partner closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, fellow engineers, and business stakeholders to tackle complex and exciting challenges. Your work will directly contribute to building capabilities that evolve the retail business model and make a positive impact on millions of customers' lives.
- • You will be responsible for understanding and articulating data strategy principles, applying them to routine business problems that span across single functions.
- • Your expertise in Data Transformation and Integration will be crucial. This involves extracting data from identified databases, creating sophisticated data pipelines, and transforming data into structures relevant to specific problems using appropriate techniques. You will also stay abreast of current analytics trends.
- • Identifying suitable data sources will be a key responsibility. You will support the understanding of requirement priorities and service level agreements, helping to pinpoint the most appropriate data sources that are fit for purpose. Initial data quality checks on extracted data will also be part of your role.
- • In Data Modelling, you will analyze complex data elements, systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual, physical, and logical data models. You will develop Logical Data Models and Physical Data Models, including data warehouse and data mart designs. Defining relational tables, primary and foreign keys, and stored procedures to structure data models will be essential. Evaluating existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies, and developing efficient data flows are also critical aspects.
- • Your Code Development and Testing skills will be put to the test as you write code to develop required solutions and application features, selecting appropriate programming languages and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements. You will create test cases for validation, develop proofs of concept, test code using appropriate methodologies, and deploy software to production servers. Contributing to code documentation, maintaining playbooks, and providing timely progress updates are also expected.
- • You will excel in Problem Formulation, translating business problems within your discipline into data-related or mathematical solutions. Identifying the most effective methods (e.g., analytics, big data analytics, automation) to solve these problems and sharing use cases with examples will be vital.
- • Applied Business Acumen will enable you to provide recommendations to business stakeholders for solving complex business issues. You will develop business cases for projects with projected ROI or cost savings, translate business requirements into actionable projects, and align them with the overall business strategy. Serving as a conduit between business needs and tangible solutions, and recommending new processes and ways of working will be key.
- • You will champion Data Governance by establishing, modifying, and documenting data governance projects and recommendations. Implementing data governance practices in partnership with stakeholders and peers, interpreting company and regulatory data policies, and educating others on data governance processes will be crucial. Providing recommendations for updates to data governance policies will also be a responsibility.
- • You will demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply it to action plans, providing expert advice and guidance to others, supporting efforts to meet customer and business needs, and building commitment for your perspectives and rationales.
