• As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the core data infrastructure that powers our cutting-edge solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the entire technology stack, collaborating closely with Web and Data Science teams to deliver user-centric solutions. You will leverage modern tools, including Generative AI assistants, to accelerate development cycles, enhance code quality, and amplify team velocity.

Our data team handles hundreds of millions of data points daily, managing vast distributed computations and real-time streaming data.
• Your responsibilities will encompass understanding and implementing best practices for distributed technologies. You will build and maintain robust services, features, and libraries that serve as definitive examples for new engineers joining the team. A key aspect of this role involves designing and writing effective, complex Spark jobs for data processing, aggregations, and pipeline construction.
• You will also be responsible for designing and implementing complex asynchronous, highly parallel, low-latency APIs and processes. Embracing innovation, you will utilize Gen AI tools, such as code assistants and AI documentation tools, to significantly boost development speed, improve overall quality, and enhance team efficiency. This is a chance to be at the forefront of integrating AI into the engineering workflow.
• Working within an Agile team, you will maintain, improve, and monitor Adthena's critical data collection processes, primarily using Scala and Java. Adherence to industry best practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and SOLID principles, alongside Adthena's specific Engineering Practices, will be essential.
• A strong grasp of data structures and algorithms is crucial for building efficient solutions, and you will apply this knowledge to Adthena's data architecture, utilizing appropriate design patterns. You will design and implement databases for both relational and non-relational storage technologies, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Furthermore, you will provide essential support to our Data Science team, enabling them to seamlessly deploy their machine learning models into production environments. Empathy towards team members and customers will be a cornerstone of your collaborative approach, fostering a positive and productive team dynamic.

🎯 Requirements

• Commercial experience developing complex Spark Jobs using Scala.
• Proficiency in Java and Scala, with Python experience being a valuable asset.
• Hands-on experience with data processing in both traditional and distributed systems (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, AWS S3).
• Proven experience in designing data models and data warehouses, and a strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra).
• Practical experience applying Gen AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, or system design.
