Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Architect and deliver scalable, reliable data warehouses, analytics platforms, and integration solutions that serve as the backbone for DataRobot’s internal AI strategy. You will design Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures on Snowflake that can ingest petabytes of behavioral, product-usage, and operational data while maintaining sub-second query performance for analysts and data scientists.
  • • Act as the technical driver and hands-on expert who shapes our end-to-end data strategy. Partner directly with the Product Manager, Analytics to prioritize initiatives, translate ambiguous business questions into concrete data deliverables, and own the technical roadmap from whiteboard sketch to production deployment.
  • • Champion the ELT paradigm across the organization. Build and maintain product-analytics pipelines that capture high-resolution event streams (Snowplow, Amplitude) and land them in Snowflake with near-real-time latency. You will define schemas, enforce data contracts, and implement incremental loading patterns that guarantee both correctness and cost-efficiency.
  • • Develop, deploy, and support analytic data products—data marts, curated ETL jobs, Python/SQL/DBT functions, and serverless micro-services—using Snowflake, Stitch/Fivetran, Airflow, and AWS primitives such as EC2, Lambda, and Kinesis. Every artifact you ship will be version-controlled, unit-tested, and monitored with automated alerting.
  • • Navigate a complex, multi-source data ecosystem spanning SaaS tools, internal micro-services, and third-party APIs. You will profile, catalog, and document lineage so that analysts can locate and trust any metric in minutes rather than days.
  • • Collaborate with and mentor cross-functional teams of analysts, data scientists, and software engineers. Conduct architecture reviews, pair-program on gnarly SQL, and set coding standards that raise the bar for readability, performance, and governance.
  • • Instrument telemetry and data pipelines across dev, staging, and production environments to provide granular visibility into product usage, model performance, and infrastructure health. Your dashboards will become the single source of truth for executive decision-making.
  • • Maintain and harden deployed ETL pipelines, ensuring 99.9 % uptime and automatic recovery from transient failures. Build data-quality monitors that detect schema drift, volume anomalies, and freshness issues before stakeholders notice.
  • • Create and curate monitoring and alerting systems that give 24/7 visibility into the health of data infrastructure, cloud applications, and data pipelines. Integrate with PagerDuty and Slack to guarantee rapid incident response.
  • • Partner with IT Enterprise Applications and Engineering teams on integration efforts between CRM, ERP, and product databases that impact analytics. You will design idempotent sync jobs and conflict-resolution logic that keep every system in harmony.
  • • Work with R&D to answer complex technical questions about product analytics and corresponding data structures. Translate raw event logs into canonical user-journey tables that feed predictive models and executive KPIs.
  • • Continuously optimize Snowflake spend by rewriting queries, clustering tables, and automating warehouse suspend/resume policies. Present quarterly cost-savings reports to leadership and reinvest the savings into new capabilities.
  • • Contribute to an infrastructure-as-code codebase using Terraform or CloudFormation so that every environment is reproducible, peer-reviewed, and compliant with SOC 2 controls.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles, with at least 3 years designing and operating Snowflake at scale
  • • Proven track record building and maintaining product-analytics pipelines that ingest behavioral event data (e.g., Snowplow, Amplitude) into a cloud warehouse
  • • Expert-level SQL and deep knowledge of data-warehousing concepts; proficiency in Python and DBT for ELT orchestration
  • • Production experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, Kinesis, IAM) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to explain complex technical trade-offs to both engineers and executives
  • • Nice-to-have: AWS cloud certification; BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field; familiarity with real-time streaming stacks (Spark, Firehose)

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance with 100 % premium coverage for employees and generous coverage for dependents
  • • Flexible Time Off Program plus company-wide recharge days and paid holidays—work-life balance is built into our culture
  • • Paid Parental Leave of up to 16 weeks for all new parents, inclusive of adoption and foster placements
  • • Global Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offering mental-health, financial, and legal counseling 24/7
  • • Remote-first culture with an annual stipend for home-office setup and monthly internet reimbursement
