• • As a Senior Data Reliability Engineer (DRE) at Elliptic Enterprises Limited, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the utmost reliability, resilience, and performance of our critical data and intelligence platform. This pivotal role involves driving a culture of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Data Reliability Engineering (DRE) across the entire engineering organization, holding every engineer and team accountable for building and maintaining highly robust software solutions. You will be an integral part of a cross-functional, cross-discipline team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and on-call engineers dedicated to sustaining our platform's peak performance 24/7/365.
• • You will oversee the Site Reliability of a diverse suite of enterprise-grade applications that are central to our operations, handling thousands of queries per second (QPS). Elliptic is renowned for its extensive and dependable datasets, and your contribution will be critical in establishing and evolving a market-leading foundation for data quality and control. This entails architecting and implementing the processes, fostering the right culture, and building the frameworks that will power observability, data quality assurance, data lineage tracking, and remediation strategies. These elements will form an essential pillar of our comprehensive data and intelligence platform, directly impacting our customers' trust and our business operations.
• • This is a highly collaborative, cross-team role, and you will receive full support from leadership and the engineering departments in executing your responsibilities. While you will be a key driver, the success of this initiative is a collective effort, and your role will be to demonstrate best practices and guide the organization towards achieving superior reliability standards.
• • Your responsibilities will include evangelizing SRE and DRE principles throughout the engineering function, leading the development of a robust data quality framework that provides our customers with strong guarantees about data fidelity, and supporting our marketing and revenue teams with reliable data insights. You will also define and own the on-call process, quickly developing a deep understanding of our systems, effectively commanding incidents, running post-incident reviews (mop-ups), and ensuring that follow-up actions are completed according to schedule. A significant part of your role will involve evaluating and continuously improving our existing end-to-end on-call processes.
• • You will actively participate in the on-call rotation, typically one week every 4-5 weeks, providing 24x7x365 coverage. This includes evaluating, managing, and maintaining our existing solutions for monitoring, alerting, paging, incident response, and documentation. You will be responsible for reporting on key metrics such as uptime, availability, and performance across our entire product suite. Furthermore, you will author post-mortem reports for both internal consumption and external client communication, representing our SRE and DRE function in sales calls with tier-one enterprise financial institutions. You will collaborate closely with product management, sales, and customer service teams to define Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for various products and use cases. Working with internal product teams, you will define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for internal measurement and tracking. Crucially, you will work directly with our engineering teams to embed DRE practices into their daily workflows, fostering a proactive approach to reliability.
