- • As a Staff Mobile Engineer on the Mobile Foundations team at Airwallex, you will lead the technical direction of the company’s mobile platform across iOS and Android, designing and evolving core architecture, owning critical shared components, and acting as a multiplier for mobile engineers across product teams.
- • You will define and evolve mobile architecture, own core mobile platform capabilities including authentication and shared libraries, improve security and performance, elevate developer experience through CI/CD improvements, manage release processes, lead cross-team technical initiatives, and serve as a hands-on technical leader and mentor.
- • The Mobile Foundations team builds the shared architecture, libraries, and tooling that power Airwallex’s fully native iOS and Android apps, enabling product squads to ship faster, more reliably, and with consistent user experience; the team works with Swift, SwiftUI, Combine, async/await on iOS and Kotlin, AndroidX, Coroutines, Hilt, and Jetpack on Android.
- • You will have the opportunity to shape the foundations of high-quality mobile apps used by global businesses, influence technical direction across the organization, mentor senior engineers, contribute to hiring and team growth, and advance your expertise in mobile platform engineering at a fast-growing fintech valued at US$8 billion.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8–10+ years of experience building native mobile applications on iOS or Android, including at least 3+ years operating at a Senior or Staff level
- • Deep expertise in either iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, Combine, async/await) or Android (Kotlin, AndroidX, Jetpack, Coroutines, Hilt) with commercial knowledge of both platforms
- • Proven track record leading cross-team technical initiatives and evolving mobile architectures (e.g. modularisation, design systems, networking, offline support)
- • Strong focus on code quality and reliability, including designing for testability, writing high-quality automated tests, and using coverage meaningfully
- • Experience owning and improving mobile CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Bitrise), including build optimisation, test stability, and release workflows
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
