📋 Description

• Own the data roadmap for one of the fastest-growing DeFi ecosystems. You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and finance, translating terabytes of on-chain and off-chain data into narratives that steer 1inch’s next $1 B in volume.
• Architect and continuously evolve our data warehouse, pipelines, and tooling so that every team—from marketing to smart-contract engineers—can answer questions in minutes, not days. You will evaluate and integrate new technologies (e.g., ClickHouse, dbt, Airflow, or emerging web3-native solutions) to cut query latency and infra cost while scaling to 10× current data volume.
• Deliver high-impact, ad-hoc analytics that directly influence protocol parameters, fee structures, tokenomics, and cross-chain routing strategies. Recent examples: identifying a 0.3 % slippage anomaly that saved users $2 M per week, and modelling liquidity depth to justify launching on a new L2.
• Design and maintain real-time dashboards (Superset, Metabase, or custom React front-ends) that surface KPIs for traders, DAO voters, and internal executives. You will obsess over clarity, usability, and mobile responsiveness so that insights are consumed—not shelved.
• Lead deep-dive research projects that uncover hidden patterns in MEV, user retention, or cross-asset arbitrage. You will publish findings internally and, where appropriate, externally—positioning 1inch as a thought leader and attracting top-tier partners.
• Champion data quality and governance. You will define SLAs, write dbt tests, and build anomaly-detection pipelines that catch schema drift or oracle manipulation before it reaches production.
• Mentor junior analysts and data engineers; run weekly “data guild” sessions to up-skill the wider org in SQL, Python, and statistical thinking.
• Collaborate with smart-contract teams to design event schemas that capture every meaningful state transition, ensuring downstream analytics are complete and gas-efficient.
• Partner with risk and compliance to build surveillance models that flag wash trading, oracle attacks, or abnormal bridge flows in real time.
• Stay ahead of the curve—experiment with zero-knowledge datasets, Dune spells, or on-chain machine learning—to keep 1inch at the bleeding edge of DeFi analytics.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in data science / analytics roles with demonstrable impact on product or business decisions
• Expert-level SQL and Python; hands-on experience with data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or ClickHouse) and modern ELT stacks
• Proven record of designing scalable data pipelines and optimising them for cost and speed
• Prior exposure to blockchain data (raw traces, logs, Dune, Flipside, or direct node queries) and familiarity with DeFi primitives (DEXs, lending, bridges)
• Strong statistical foundation—comfort with hypothesis testing, causal inference, and experimental design
