Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Shape the future of cybersecurity as a Senior Data Scientist at Kasada, where your work will directly protect millions of users from malicious bots every single day. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of machine-learning models that decide, in milliseconds, whether a request is human or automated, stopping attacks before they even start.
  • • Design, train, and deploy production-grade ML models that operate on petabytes of real-time web traffic. Your models will run in adversarial environments where attackers evolve daily, so you’ll continuously research and implement cutting-edge techniques in anomaly detection, adversarial ML, and fraud prevention to stay ahead.
  • • Explore massive, messy datasets to uncover new bot behaviours and attack vectors that have never been seen before. You will turn these discoveries into robust detection rules and probabilistic models that scale horizontally across Kasada’s global edge network.
  • • Build and maintain resilient data pipelines using Flink, Spark, Kafka, and AWS services to ingest, transform, and score billions of events per day with sub-second latency. You’ll ensure every component is observable, fault-tolerant, and cost-efficient.
  • • Collaborate tightly with backend engineers, threat researchers, and product managers to integrate new detection capabilities into the core platform. You’ll translate complex statistical findings into clear product requirements and actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • • Design and execute rigorous A/B and red-team experiments to measure model precision, recall, and robustness against adversarial adaptation. You will iterate rapidly, shipping improvements multiple times per week without compromising quality or customer trust.
  • • Stay at the forefront of research by attending conferences, publishing internal white-papers, and prototyping novel techniques in adversarial ML, graph neural networks, and streaming analytics. You’ll champion best practices and mentor junior data scientists across the globe.
  • • Communicate insights through compelling dashboards, notebooks, and executive briefings that influence strategic decisions. Your storytelling will bridge the gap between raw data and business impact, ensuring every team understands how bot threats evolve and how Kasada stays ahead.
  • • Contribute to a culture of curiosity and bold experimentation. Whether you’re brainstorming in a virtual stand-up or white-boarding in our Sydney HQ shipping-container-turned-office, you’ll bring fearless ideas and a sense of fun to solving some of the hardest problems on the internet.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, training, and deploying ML models in production, ideally in cybersecurity, fraud detection, or similarly adversarial domains
  • • Expert-level Python proficiency and deep familiarity with ML libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
  • • Proven track record with big-data technologies (Flink, Spark) and AWS services for large-scale data processing and real-time ML deployment
  • • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field (preferred, not mandatory)
  • • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, teach, and align diverse technical and business stakeholders

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Equity stock options giving you a direct stake in Kasada’s global growth and success
  • • Fully flexible working hours and remote-first arrangements—create a schedule that fits your life, whether you’re in Sydney, Melbourne, or beyond
  • • Generous parental leave policy plus dedicated resources and support before, during, and after parental leave
  • • Birthday leave, wellness leave, and an annual calendar of action-packed virtual and in-person events to keep the fun alive
