- • Embed within one of Jerry’s core business units — Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships — to own the end-to-end analytical function for that domain.
- • Define the right business questions before initiating analysis, pushing back on flawed or misaligned problems to ensure focus on high-impact initiatives.
- • Design, build, and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reports using SQL (ClickHouse) and Metabase to track key business performance indicators.
- • Conduct independent data extraction, cleaning, structuring, and interpretation to uncover actionable insights without reliance on engineering or data infrastructure teams.
- • Design and execute experiments (A/B tests, causal analyses) to evaluate product changes, marketing campaigns, or operational improvements.
- • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, persuasive recommendations that drive decisions at the leadership level across product, growth, finance, and operations.
- • Own the execution of data-driven initiatives from insight generation through implementation, ensuring outcomes are delivered and measured.
- • Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams to align on goals, surface bottlenecks, and identify new opportunities for growth or efficiency.
- • Operate as a first-principles problem solver: break down ambiguous, high-stakes business challenges into testable hypotheses before touching data.
- • Communicate findings with precision and clarity — write concisely, speak directly, and avoid burying the lede to secure stakeholder buy-in quickly.
- • Act with ownership: take responsibility for problems even if they fall outside your formal scope, treating business outcomes as if your name is on the door.
- • Work in a no-slides, no-fluff environment where only work that materially moves business metrics is prioritized — no unnecessary meetings or bureaucratic approvals.
- • Use Python and Jupyter Hub for advanced analysis, automation, and modeling tasks alongside SQL-based reporting.
- • Leverage GitHub for version control and collaboration on analytical code and pipelines.
- • Contribute to scaling Jerry’s data science function from 5M to 50M customers by expanding into new verticals including home, motorcycle, and RV ownership.
- • Drive impact across the entire business by embedding within high-leverage teams and shaping what questions are asked, what data is used, and what decisions are made.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company
- • Strong analytical skills with ability to independently pull, structure, and interpret data using SQL and Python
- • Proven track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering measurable business impact
- • Clear, persuasive communication skills with ability to influence leadership-level decisions
- • Experience driving end-to-end execution of data initiatives, not just analysis or reporting
- • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments with minimal bureaucracy
