📋 Description
- • Design and implement machine learning models and optimization algorithms to drive pricing intelligence and directly influence a comprehensive suite of pricing levers across Back Market’s global marketplace.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of data science projects, including problem definition, metric design, data extraction, model development, production deployment, and presentation of results to business, product, and engineering stakeholders.
- • Collaborate closely with data scientists and backend engineers to translate analytical models into scalable, production-ready features that enhance pricing accuracy and marketplace efficiency.
- • Design, execute, and analyze controlled experiments to measure the impact of fee structure changes, algorithmic updates, and pricing strategy adjustments on key business outcomes.
- • Leverage statistical analysis to uncover actionable insights from large-scale marketplace data, informing critical decisions related to technology, product direction, and business strategy.
- • Communicate complex technical findings clearly and persuasively to non-technical audiences, including senior management, product teams, and cross-functional partners.
- • Ensure models are robust, interpretable, and aligned with business objectives, balancing predictive performance with operational feasibility in a high-velocity environment.
- • Monitor model performance post-deployment, identify degradation or drift, and implement iterative improvements to maintain pricing accuracy and competitive advantage.
- • Contribute to the development of data pipelines and automated reporting systems that support real-time pricing decision-making and strategic planning.
- • Work within the Pricing & Quality team to curate high-value offers for customers by aligning pricing strategies with quality assessments and customer value perception.
- • Apply practical expertise in experimentation design to validate hypotheses and quantify the business impact of pricing interventions with statistical rigor.
- • Translate business problems in dynamic, ambiguous environments into well-defined data science tasks, even when data is incomplete or noisy.
- • Maintain awareness of industry best practices in revenue management, B2C marketplace dynamics, and pricing optimization to continuously refine modeling approaches.
- • Support the broader Bureau of Technology by contributing to knowledge sharing, code reviews, and documentation standards that elevate team-wide engineering quality.
- • Embed ethical and sustainable considerations into pricing models to ensure alignment with Back Market’s mission of reducing environmental impact through refurbished tech.
- • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve customer experience through smarter pricing, while maintaining profitability and marketplace integrity.
