- • Serve as the quality bar for UI across Juniper Square’s product suite, identifying and autonomously shipping improvements to rough edges, inconsistencies, and last-mile polish in interactions, spacing, and transitions.
- • Build production-grade UI components and interactions that accurately translate designer concepts into functional, high-fidelity code, ensuring the final product matches the intended design vision.
- • Create and maintain the handoff layer between design and engineering by organizing, structuring, and preparing designer-generated code for seamless adoption by engineering teams and AI agents without rework.
- • Own the evolution and extension of Juniper Square’s design system, including writing reusable components, documenting patterns, and enforcing consistent application across complex, data-heavy workflows such as dashboards, investor portals, and financial reporting interfaces.
- • Partner closely with product designers and engineering teams to define technical feasibility, push the boundaries of product aesthetics, and align on the visual and interactive direction of the platform.
- • Leverage AI-powered coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) as core components of your workflow to prototype interactions, generate starting points for production code, and accelerate development while applying sound judgment to refine outputs.
- • Ensure all UI implementations reflect a unified, considered user experience by paying meticulous attention to details others overlook, from micro-animations to responsive behavior in data-dense environments.
- • Develop workflows and tooling that enable designers to ship prototypes as structured, engineer-ready starting points, reducing friction between design and development cycles.
- • Maintain high standards for code quality, accessibility, and performance in all front-end implementations, ensuring scalability and maintainability across a product suite serving 700,000+ LPs and 2,300+ GPs.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to influence product direction, advocate for design excellence, and translate complex financial workflows into intuitive, clear interfaces.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design engineering practices by introducing new standards, automation, and AI-integrated processes that enhance team velocity and product quality.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience working across design and front-end engineering, with a portfolio of shipped work demonstrating strong craft
- • Strong front-end engineering skills in TypeScript, React, CSS, and animations, with ability to write clean, maintainable code
- • Equally comfortable in Figma and a code editor, fluidly moving between design and implementation modes
- • Experience working with or contributing to a Design System, including component creation and pattern documentation
- • Fluency with AI-powered coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code or equivalent) as part of core workflow
- • Strong written and visual communication skills to articulate design and implementation decisions to cross-functional partners
