📋 Description

• As a Senior Developer in API Services at Truetandem, Inc., you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend APIs that power content delivery systems for both internal stakeholders and public-facing consumer products, directly enabling the company’s mission to deliver innovative, cost-effective technology solutions to high-profile clients including federal agencies, nonprofits, and Fortune 500 companies.
• Your work will ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance of critical infrastructure, supporting millions of end users while advancing Truetandem’s reputation as a trusted IT solutions provider through technical excellence and innovation in cloud-native architectures.
• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade backend APIs using Golang, ensuring clean, testable, and maintainable code that integrates seamlessly with front-end systems and serves content at scale to diverse audiences.
• Automate infrastructure and application lifecycle processes by containerizing services with Docker, orchestrating deployments via Kubernetes, and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform to enable repeatable, reliable, and scalable environments.
• Leverage native tools and services from leading public cloud providers (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) to optimize architecture for performance, cost-efficiency, and resilience, including leveraging managed databases, messaging queues, and observability tools.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging tools and techniques to improve deployment velocity, reduce operational overhead, minimize resource consumption, and enhance developer productivity through experimentation and benchmarking.
• Conduct thorough code reviews of pull requests, providing constructive feedback and mentoring junior developers to elevate team-wide code quality, promote best practices, and foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
• Actively participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming, contributing to sprint goals with a predictable two-week cadence and adapting priorities based on business needs.
• Share responsibility for system reliability by participating in the team’s on-call rotation, responding to incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures to reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR).
• Champion and evolve observability practices by defining SLIs/SLOs, configuring alerts, analyzing logs and traces (including via Elasticsearch), and advocating for proactive monitoring and alerting strategies that improve system health and team accountability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, product, and UX to align technical delivery with business objectives, ensuring APIs meet functional, non-functional, and security requirements.
• Stay current with industry trends in API design (REST, GraphQL), cloud-native patterns, and DevOps methodologies, bringing innovative ideas to team discussions and helping shape the long-term technical roadmap.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in Golang, including building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in production environments, including Helm charts and custom resource definitions.
• Proven ability to design and implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools, managing cloud resources across public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience working with Elasticsearch for logging, monitoring, or search functionality, including query optimization and cluster management.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.
