- • As a Senior Developer on the Partnership Engineering team at 1Password, you will design and build the integration patterns, components, and tooling that power high-impact external partnerships, working directly with partners during active integrations to turn one-off deals into reusable capabilities while shaping technical direction and influencing platform evolution based on real-world partner needs.
- • Day to day, you will lead technical design and implementation for complex external integrations spanning SDKs, service accounts, browser surfaces, new platform systems, and AI-native platforms; partner closely with the Strategic Partnerships team to validate feasibility and assess partner architectures; build and extend platform components required to support in-flight integrations; identify common integration patterns and abstract them into reusable infrastructure; contribute to the external integrations program by tracking lifecycle progress from initial discussion through GA; produce clear technical artifacts such as design docs, sequence diagrams, and integration guides to support internal alignment and partner execution; improve self-service documentation and tooling to make integrations increasingly plug-and-play; support partner migrations to new platform capabilities including auditing and policy controls; and use focused POCs to de-risk new integration patterns, especially with external AI platforms and model providers.
- • The Partnership Engineering team sits at the intersection of product, platform, and external partners, working across new platform systems, Developer Platform capabilities, browser integrations, and SDK surfaces to ensure integrations are secure, extensible, and built to last, operating as a senior individual contributor role with broad scope and ownership over technical direction within integrations.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in secure system design, AI-native integration patterns, and developer platform evolution while gaining influence over how 1Password scales its partnership ecosystem, positioning you as a key technical leader in enabling secure, seamless integrations for Fortune 100 companies and innovative AI-driven organizations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong backend or full-stack engineering experience building APIs, SDKs, platform capabilities, and integrations with AI-native technologies such as LLM APIs, agent frameworks, embeddings, or retrieval systems
- • A track record of delivering complex integrations across organizational boundaries
- • Experience designing secure systems, including authentication, authorization, and policy-driven access models
- • Clear technical writing and documentation skills
- • Experience building or maintaining developer platforms or SDK ecosystems
- • Familiarity with browser integrations or extension architectures
