📋 Description

• • Own the full DevOps lifecycle for Fortune-500 and high-growth start-ups in healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. You will parachute into green-field and brown-field environments, diagnose bottlenecks, and deliver secure, scalable, and observable infrastructure within weeks—not months.
• • Serve as the go-to GitLab Subject-Matter Expert (PSE certification required). You will plan and execute zero-downtime version upgrades, migrate legacy VCS into GitLab, and design group/sub-group structures that enforce least-privilege and compliance mandates such as HIPAA, SOX, or ISO-27001.
• • Architect and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines that compress build-test-deploy cycles from hours to minutes. Choose the right tool—GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins—and codify every step in Terraform so that environments can be spun up or torn down with a single pull request.
• • Build and harden containerized platforms on Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE), ECS/Fargate, or on-prem Rancher. Define Helm charts, Kustomize overlays, and OPA policies that enforce resource quotas, network segmentation, and image vulnerability scanning before any pod reaches production.
• • Automate everything that moves. Write Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripts that provision VPCs, IAM roles, KMS keys, and WAF rules; schedule Lambda or Azure Functions for cost-saving clean-ups; and wire custom webhooks that keep Slack, PagerDuty, and ServiceNow in perfect sync.
• • Lead incident-response war rooms, run post-mortems, and codify the lessons learned into Terraform modules and runbooks. Implement SLOs/SLIs with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Datadog and configure chaos-engineering experiments to prove resiliency before clients’ customers feel pain.
• • Mentor client engineers and junior consultants through pair programming, brown-bag sessions, and architecture reviews. Contribute reusable delivery assets—Terraform modules, pipeline templates, and security baselines—to the NextLink Labs internal library so every future engagement starts on third base.
• • Engage directly with CTOs, CISOs, and VP of Engineering stakeholders to translate business OKRs into technical roadmaps. Run agile discovery workshops, estimate epics, and present sprint demos that showcase measurable velocity, security, and cost improvements.
• • Stay ahead of the curve. Evaluate emerging tools such as Crossplane, Argo CD, or Trivy operator, run proof-of-concepts, and publish internal tech notes that influence the firm’s go-to-market offerings and thought-leadership content.
• • Travel up to 20 % for on-site discovery, training, or major go-lives; the rest of your time is fully remote within North-American time zones. You will juggle 2–3 concurrent client engagements, each with its own unique tech stack, regulatory constraints, and cultural nuances—perfect for engineers who thrive on variety and impact.
