- • As a Senior DevOps Engineer with a Software Engineering background, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our sophisticated cloud-based infrastructure. This role is a unique blend of DevOps principles, AWS-centric deployment strategies, and robust IT security, demanding a strong track record in managing deployed cloud DevOps systems. You will be instrumental in spearheading our ISO 27001 initiative and ensuring unwavering compliance with corporate security mandates.
- • You will become an integral part of a small, highly effective, and specialized team dedicated to delivering world-class computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. Our M-Star software provides scientists and engineers with first-principles modeling tools, generating predictions that are virtually indistinguishable from empirical data. This software serves a diverse range of critical industries, including Life Sciences, Chemical Materials, and various industrial sectors.
- • This is an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who are at the forefront of their fields, many holding PhDs and actively contributing to scientific literature through research papers and conference presentations. - • Your responsibilities will encompass the critical areas of Build, CI, and Licensing Systems. You will be tasked with maintaining and operating the software build server and continuous integration pipelines, ensuring seamless integration for our cross-platform desktop and High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications. Furthermore, you will manage the intricate release processes and oversee versioned software distribution, guaranteeing the integrity and accessibility of our software releases. A key aspect of this role involves supporting and maintaining our sophisticated license control systems and their associated backend services, ensuring smooth operation for our users.
- • In the realm of Cloud Infrastructure & Operations, you will be responsible for maintaining our AWS-based software distribution and business operations systems. You will lead crucial IT security efforts, including the implementation and maintenance of ISO 27001 standards and other corporate security protocols. Your expertise will be vital in managing and configuring a wide array of AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, ECR, IAM, WAF, CloudFront, Identity, CloudTrail, and Security Lake. Ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure will be paramount. You will also provide support for operational tooling across AWS and potentially other cloud providers, acting as a key administrator for a diverse set of services such as Office suites, AWS, GitHub, and Mailchimp.
- • We are seeking individuals with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, ideally with an educational or working background in IT infrastructure or software development. You should possess the advanced technical acumen of a highly specialized software engineer, capable of making significant product decisions regarding direction and scope. This role requires comfort in acting as the primary engineering point of contact within the M-Star team, demonstrating leadership and technical authority.
