• • As a Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong Software Engineering background, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our sophisticated cloud-based infrastructure. This role is a unique blend of DevOps principles, AWS deployment expertise, and a critical focus on IT security. You will be instrumental in spearheading our ISO 27001 certification efforts and ensuring ongoing compliance with stringent corporate security mandates. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability, security, and efficiency of our cutting-edge computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, M-Star, which provides first-principles modeling tools for scientists and engineers across diverse industries including Life Sciences, Chemical Materials, and Industrial sectors.
• • You will become an integral part of a small, highly effective, and specialized team renowned for delivering world-class CFD software. • • Your core responsibilities will encompass the meticulous maintenance and operation of our software build server and continuous integration (CI) pipelines, ensuring seamless build processes for cross-platform desktop and High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications. You will expertly manage release processes and oversee versioned software distribution, guaranteeing the integrity and accessibility of our software releases.
• • Furthermore, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our critical license control systems and their associated backend services, ensuring uninterrupted access to our powerful M-Star software for our valued customers.
• • In the realm of Cloud Infrastructure & Operations, you will maintain and optimize our AWS-based software distribution and business operations systems. Your leadership will be crucial in driving IT security initiatives, including achieving and maintaining ISO 27001 compliance and implementing robust corporate security measures.
• • You will be adept at managing and configuring a wide array of AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, ECR, IAM, WAF, CloudFront, Identity, CloudTrail, and Security Lake. A key focus will be ensuring the security, scalability, and unwavering reliability of our cloud infrastructure, underpinning the performance of our scientific software.
• • You will also provide essential support for operational tooling across AWS and other cloud environments, acting as a central administrator for a diverse suite of services such as Office applications, AWS, GitHub, and Mailchimp, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• • This role demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of complex, compiled codebases, moving beyond typical web application environments. You will be a key decision-maker regarding product direction and scope, comfortable acting as the primary engineering point of contact within the M-Star team.
