📋 Description
- • Join Rackspace Technology Global, Inc. as a Senior DevOps Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud management platform (CMP) operations. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your extensive experience to drive innovation, enhance efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of security and reliability in our delivery pipelines. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in implementing and operating cutting-edge CI/CD processes, robust environments, and sophisticated platform tooling that empowers our teams to deliver software rapidly, safely, and securely.
- • In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of our DevOps transformation, focusing on the end-to-end lifecycle of our cloud management platform. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure and automation that underpins our software development and deployment processes. This includes developing and refining Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and resilient. You will work with a variety of tools and technologies to automate build, test, and deployment stages, minimizing manual intervention and reducing the potential for human error.
- • You will be responsible for the provisioning, configuration, and management of our cloud environments. This involves ensuring that these environments are consistent, secure, and readily available for development, testing, and production workloads. Your expertise will be crucial in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, utilizing tools like Terraform or Ansible, to automate environment setup and management, enabling rapid scaling and seamless updates.
- • A significant part of your role will involve selecting, implementing, and maintaining the platform tooling that supports our DevOps practices. This could encompass a wide range of tools for monitoring, logging, security scanning, artifact management, and collaboration. You will evaluate new technologies, conduct proof-of-concepts, and integrate them into our existing ecosystem to enhance developer productivity and operational excellence.
- • Security will be a paramount concern in all your activities. You will embed security best practices throughout the CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies. This includes implementing automated security checks, vulnerability scanning, and access control mechanisms to safeguard our platform and the data it manages.
- • Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will work closely with software development teams, QA engineers, and operations personnel to understand their needs and provide them with the tools and infrastructure required for efficient and effective delivery. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and shared responsibility.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with various cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable, as you will be working within these environments.
- • You will be expected to troubleshoot complex issues across the entire stack, from infrastructure to application deployment, and to implement proactive measures to prevent future occurrences. This includes developing comprehensive monitoring and alerting strategies to ensure the health and performance of our systems.
- • This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on Rackspace's ability to deliver innovative cloud solutions to our customers. You will be empowered to make technical decisions, drive architectural changes, and contribute to the strategic direction of our DevOps practices. If you are a passionate and experienced DevOps professional looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work remotely and contribute to a global leader in technology services, we encourage you to apply.
- • Your day-to-day activities will involve coding and scripting for automation, managing cloud resources, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, conducting performance tuning, and participating in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system availability. You will also be involved in capacity planning, disaster recovery strategy development, and continuous learning to stay abreast of the latest DevOps trends and technologies.
- • We are looking for someone who is not just an implementer but a strategic thinker, capable of identifying areas for improvement and proposing innovative solutions. You will be a key player in ensuring that Rackspace Technology remains at the cutting edge of cloud service delivery through robust and efficient engineering practices.
- • This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, global team environment. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and high performance within the engineering organization.
- • Ultimately, your success will be measured by the speed, quality, and security of software deliveries, the reliability and scalability of our cloud management platform, and the overall satisfaction of our development and operations teams. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the technology that powers Rackspace and its clients worldwide.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related infrastructure engineering role, with a significant portion focused on cloud environments.
- • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- • Strong proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including experience with their core services (compute, storage, networking, IAM).
- • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or ARM templates, and a deep understanding of configuration management principles.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
- • Opportunities for professional development, training, and certifications.
- • Remote work flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere in India.
