📋 Description

• Lead a team of DevOps and Security engineers to prioritize, schedule, and implement DevOps and Security tasks within the R&D DevOps & Security team at Real.
• Build and operate AWS infrastructure including Kubernetes/EKS clusters, GitOps pipelines using ArgoCD and Helm, and CI/CD workflows powered by TeamCity.
• Write, own, and enforce infrastructure-as-code (IaC) standards using Terraform and AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), establishing reusable, well-tested, and peer-reviewed patterns.
• Enhance the organization’s security posture by implementing least-privilege IAM policies, secrets management, vulnerability and patch management, and supply-chain (SCA) and code scanning (SAST/DAST).
• Integrate security practices into the developer workflow by shifting security left, ensuring automated scanning and compliance checks are embedded in CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze infrastructure and application performance using Datadog to identify regressions, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities, driving data-informed improvements.
• Define and lead the technical vision and strategy for all DevOps and Security initiatives across the organization.
• Educate and mentor engineering teams on DevOps methodologies, security best practices, and infrastructure design principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across diverse time zones, maintaining alignment with Eastern Time (EST) work hours, starting at 8:00 AM EST.
• Operate in a fast-paced, agile startup environment with a strong emphasis on autonomy, ownership, and results-driven outcomes.

• Demonstrate hands-on technical leadership by actively contributing to code, configuration, and system design—not just managing others.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of AWS cloud services and networking to design scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
• Utilize Java programming language in the context of infrastructure automation, tooling, or integration tasks.
• Continuously improve observability and monitoring capabilities to ensure high availability and performance of critical systems.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the DevOps and Security team.

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer as an individual contributor
• At least 2 years of experience leading a team of DevOps or Security engineers
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration
• In-depth knowledge of AWS and cloud networking
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with IAM/least-privilege, secrets management, vulnerability management, and security scanning (SAST/DAST/SCA)
• Significant experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC)
