- • As a Senior Director Analyst in Cryptography at Gartner, you will engage with enterprise clients daily via video conference and occasional onsite participation at Gartner conferences to support their most challenging business initiatives in data security, helping them make informed decisions about cryptographic technologies and strategies.
- • You will conduct in-depth research and analysis in data security with a focus on encryption, PKI, post-quantum cryptography, key and certificate management, producing written research that clients can download and apply to real-world scenarios.
- • You will respond to client questions and deliver high-quality, actionable advice through various media, including reports, briefings, and presentations focused on strategic and practical considerations in cryptography, encryption, key management, and certificate lifecycle.
- • You will predict how crypto-discovery, key and certificate management markets are evolving, helping clients in their vendor selection process and providing feedback to vendors on emerging trends in buyer needs.
- • You will remain ahead of the curve on developments in data security, privacy, identity, and access management through peer collaboration with specialized teams.
- • You will proactively work with the wider sales organization to deliver outstanding sales support in order to retain and grow the business.
- • You will collaborate with peers, become a published author on Gartner.com, showcasing your thought-leading research, growing your knowledge and personal brand as a Gartner Analyst.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 12 years of experience in research, hype, or technology-related roles, with deep subject matter familiarity in cryptography and encryption, including understanding of security, compliance, business benefits, and emerging technologies in those markets.
- • Demonstrated ability to be a lifelong learner with foundational knowledge and experience in cryptography, encryption, PKI, key and certificate management, HSMs, and cybersecurity in general.
- • Understanding of data and cloud security concepts and markets, including key and certificate management for human and machine identities and cloud infrastructure.
- • Familiarity with encryption and cryptography management vendors such as Entrust, IBM, Keyfactor, and Thales.
- • Familiarity with security considerations for cloud, SaaS, and on-premise environments and how they are impacted by quantum computing, privacy, and data security requirements.
- • Proven ability to participate in matrixed projects and provide guidance regarding key management tools and cryptographic standards with a focus on crypto-agility.
- • Strong business acumen: ability to understand how an organization operates (risks and opportunities) and the drivers of company performance.
- • Intellectual agility: analytical thinker with the ability to process and understand information quickly, diagnose issues, take positions, and make actionable intelligent recommendations.
- • Proven collaboration skills: ability to collaborate productively, build relationships, and move work forward with internal partners and clients.
