- • Lead, scale, and transform Kueski’s end-to-end Collections organization to support 10x business growth while maintaining regulatory compliance and customer trust.
- • Define and communicate the long-term Collections vision, strategy, and success metrics in partnership with the VP of Strategic Planning, ensuring alignment with company OKRs and KPIs.
- • Own end-to-end collections execution including early-, mid-, and late-stage recovery, managing both in-house teams and external agency partners.
- • Design and execute data-driven recovery strategies to optimize roll rates, recovery curves, cash flow, and loss mitigation across customer cohorts and risk tiers.
- • Develop and refine segmentation, contact, and treatment strategies based on behavioral data, product type, and portfolio performance.
- • Balance recovery effectiveness with customer experience, ensuring all collections practices align with Kueski’s brand values and ethical standards.
- • Lead the strategy for charged-off portfolio sales, including eligibility criteria, timing, pricing frameworks, and partner selection to maximize recoveries and free operational capacity.
- • Partner with Product and Engineering to design and implement an AI-driven, automated collections operating model that scales with future growth.
- • Drive automation across key workflows: payment retries, prioritization, contact strategies, self-serve options, and agency management.
- • Champion innovation in collections through AI-driven decisioning, predictive modeling, and digital-first recovery approaches.
- • Own the collections budget from planning through variance analysis, ensuring financial discipline and alignment with company forecasts.
- • Collaborate closely with Risk & Fraud to align collections strategies with underwriting policies, credit risk appetite, and portfolio behavior.
- • Ensure full compliance with Mexican consumer protection regulations, internal policies, and audit readiness for all collections operations.
- • Define and monitor core KPIs including roll rates, recovery rates, cure rates, cash collected, cost-to-collect, and agency performance.
- • Develop and track leading indicators to detect early signs of portfolio deterioration, operational breakdowns, or system failures, integrating insights into the Operational Backbone initiative.
- • Provide data-backed executive reporting to connect collections performance to unit economics, liquidity, and financial outcomes.
- • Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse team of managers and frontline staff across internal and vendor teams, fostering accountability and operational excellence.
- • Partner with People Success on organizational design, hiring, training, incentive structures, and change management initiatives.
- • Champion Kueski’s values of integrity, empathy, customer focus, and innovation across all collections functions.
- • Build and maintain strong relationships with external collections agencies, technology providers, and regulatory stakeholders.
- • Serve as the primary executive point of contact for Collections performance, risk outcomes, and recovery strategy across the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in Collections, Credit Operations, or Loan Servicing within high-volume, tech-enabled financial services or fintech organizations
- • 7+ years of leadership experience managing managers and overseeing large-scale collections organizations (100+ headcount across internal and external teams)
- • Proven experience in fintech or financial services, ideally within BNPL, personal loans, or consumer credit products
- • Strong track record designing and scaling collections strategies that improve recovery, reduce losses, and protect customer relationships
- • Demonstrated success partnering with Product and Engineering on automation, system migrations, or AI-driven collections initiatives
- • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and make timely decisions
