- • Oversee multiple manufacturing facilities and guide department heads in establishing, implementing, and reviewing operational goals, standards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational excellence.
- • Lead the development, management, and administration of operating budgets across designated facilities, ensuring financial accountability and resource optimization.
- • Drive business objectives in safety, cost, quality, customer service, and production efficiencies by reviewing and approving control plans, efficiency metrics, engineering effectiveness, and major capital projects.
- • Implement continuous process and operational improvements to elevate performance standards and align with Smithfield’s Good Food, Responsibly™ initiative.
- • Maintain prompt and accurate reporting systems on all aspects of plant operations to ensure transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.
- • Provide strategic vision and create short-term and long-term operational roadmaps to support sustained business growth and goal achievement.
- • Lead and develop a diverse team of operations professionals through coaching, mentoring, and employee development initiatives to foster a high-performance culture.
- • Ensure cultural alignment across facilities by promoting Smithfield’s Core Four values: gratitude, communication, respect, and accountability.
- • Manage end-to-end operations in a meat manufacturing environment, applying deep understanding of production, purchasing, engineering, and production control processes.
- • Balance staffing levels with profitability and growth objectives by recruiting, training, and motivating personnel across union and non-union environments.
- • Demonstrate participative management by advocating for team-based solutions and building strong, respectful working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- • Utilize strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities to interpret operational data and drive performance improvements.
- • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats to influence stakeholders, present findings, and align teams across multiple sites.
- • Maintain personal accountability for safety, ensuring it is a core priority in all operational decisions and daily activities.
- • Adapt to dynamic, fast-paced environments while remaining tactful, mature, and approachable, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- • Perform site visits requiring mobility, including navigating uneven terrain, standing for up to eight hours daily, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
- • May be required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 70 pounds, depending on facility and task requirements.
- • Relocation package available for candidates who are not currently based in the designated operational area.
