- • Senior Engineering Manager - Endpoint at Nightfall AI is a player-coach role that combines hands-on technical leadership with team management to drive the endpoint engineering effort across Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms.
- • The role involves personally contributing to design, architecture, and production code in C/C++, C#, or Swift/Objective-C while leading a multi-platform team of 10+ engineers, mentoring senior talent, and owning end-to-end delivery of the Linux endpoint agent from architecture to GA.
- • Nightfall AI is an AI-native data loss prevention and insider risk management platform trusted by hundreds of customers, including top banks and AI innovators, to protect sensitive data across SaaS, GenAI, email, and endpoint devices using automatic remediation and user coaching.
- • The person in this role will set technical direction, drive quarterly planning and execution, partner with VP of Engineering, Product, and Security Research, and build a high-trust, high-accountability culture where engineers own problems end-to-end and ship at startup velocity.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant time in systems or endpoint engineering (kernel-level, agent development, or OS-native APIs)
- • 5+ years in engineering management or tech lead role leading teams of 8+ engineers while maintaining hands-on coding
- • Deep expertise in at least one target platform: macOS (Endpoint Security, system extensions, IOKit, VFS), Windows (WDF/WDM, filter drivers, user-mode security agents), or Linux (eBPF, LSM hooks, fanotify/netlink, kernel modules)
- • Comfortable reading and writing production systems code in C/C++; experience with C# or Swift is a strong plus
- • Proven ability to own complex technical problems end-to-end while managing a team, including debugging kernel-level issues using tools like lldb, WinDbg, kgdb, ftrace, or perf
