- • Lead the NAM Experiences team at WEX Inc., responsible for the portal into self-service applications that power essential features like digital spend controls and real-time transaction insights for fleet managers.
- • Define, own, and execute the long-term vision and strategy for the North American Mobility (NAM) Experience, including card and vehicle management, and mobility payments.
- • Serve as a hands-on technical leader, owning and implementing UI platform system designs, developing architectural roadmaps, and championing innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
- • Hire, lead, manage, retain, and grow high-performance software engineers, utilizing active career growth planning with monthly and quarterly feedback, and maintaining detailed resource maps for workstreams.
- • Drive cross-team engineering projects as the single-threaded owner (STO), collaborate with product, UX, and commercial partners to prioritize work, and enforce metrics-driven measurements for developer productivity.
- • Partner with product and commercial leads to maintain a robust roadmap, define clear interdependent OKRs, and collaborate with other Mobility engineering teams to promote reuse of development practices and components.
- • Present, influence, and communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing regular updates on challenges and opportunities within the Mobility domain.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- • 6+ years in software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an engineering management role leading frontend/UI engineering teams.
- • Strong hands-on background building and scaling modern web applications using frameworks such as Angular or React, with experience owning UI architecture at scale.
- • Proven experience driving engineering excellence in frontend systems, including performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG), reliability, and cross-browser compatibility.
- • Demonstrated ability to establish and enforce testing strategies for UI systems (unit, integration, and end-to-end testing) and improve CI/CD pipelines for frontend delivery.
- • Solid understanding of security, privacy, and compliance considerations relevant to web applications (e.g., authentication, authorization, data protection).
- • Strong people leadership skills, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development for frontend engineers.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and clearly articulate technical and non-technical concepts.
