- • Own the engineering org blueprint: partner with the VP of Engineering to design, evolve, and scale our entire engineering structure—from feature teams and enabling teams to platform teams—ensuring optimal spans of control, clear ownership, and sustainable growth as Zeenea’s Paris-based R&D hub doubles in size over the next 24 months.
- • Monitor and act on organizational health metrics: build dashboards that track team ratios, bandwidth, cycle time, and efficiency; use the data to re-balance squads, retire bottlenecks, and champion continuous improvement across our remote-first workforce.
- • Co-create the long-term technical vision: translate Actian’s hybrid-data strategy into an actionable engineering roadmap, aligning cloud-native architectures, micro-services, and data-intelligence capabilities with market demands and customer success KPIs.
- • Standardize and scale engineering processes: design and roll out company-wide playbooks for onboarding, performance management, feedback loops, staffing, and incident response; ensure every engineer—from intern to principal—experiences a consistent, world-class journey.
- • Bridge product, design, and engineering: facilitate quarterly planning rituals, architecture reviews, and OKR alignments so that technical designs, user-experience mock-ups, and product specs converge into shippable increments every two weeks.
- • Architect career growth: craft a transparent career-lattice covering IC and management tracks, define role expectations for each seniority level, and create mobility pathways that let top talent rotate between data catalog, lineage, and governance teams without friction.
- • Identify and grow high-potential engineers: run talent-review cycles, succession-planning workshops, and mentoring circles; pair emerging leaders with staff+ mentors and measure progress through 360-feedback and promotion readiness scorecards.
- • Foster a vibrant engineering culture: launch internal tech talks, guilds, and hack-days; curate a knowledge base that turns tribal wisdom into reusable patterns, reducing ramp-up time for new hires by 30 %.
- • Coach team leads daily: serve as a sounding board on technical mentoring, difficult feedback, engagement tactics, and early-warning signals; help them shift from player-coach to true multipliers of talent.
- • Stay hands-on when needed: dive into architecture spikes, review critical PRs, and champion best practices in Java/Kotlin, Kubernetes, and event-driven systems to keep your technical edge sharp and credible.
- • Champion diversity & inclusion: embed inclusive hiring, equitable promotion, and psychological safety practices into every process, ensuring Zeenea remains a workplace where all voices are heard and valued.
