đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Field Engineer at Motiv Inc., you will be an integral and highly valued member of our UK and EU Field Engineering team, playing a pivotal role in the successful deployment and support of our cutting-edge hardware solutions. This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving acumen, and a deep understanding of both Motive's hardware and software products, alongside industry best practices for vehicle and equipment installations.
- • You will serve as a primary technical point of contact for our customers and third-party installers, ensuring the seamless integration of Motive's technology into their physical operations. Your responsibilities will span the entire deployment lifecycle, from initial installation and configuration to ongoing technical support and quality assurance. This is an opportunity to become a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the organization, setting the standard for hardware knowledge and installation quality across the region.
- • A core aspect of your role will involve providing on-site installation and technical guidance to third-party installers. This includes directing vehicle engineering efforts and ensuring proper connection to vehicle systems, such as the CAN-BUS. You will be responsible for supervising installations, troubleshooting any technical challenges that arise, conducting thorough quality assurance checks, and providing essential support to ensure Motive implementations are robust and reliable.
- • Beyond direct installations, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our hardware deployment strategy. This includes actively participating in Motive's Alpha and Beta programs for new product development. Your hands-on testing and installation of pre-release hardware will provide invaluable feedback to our engineering teams, directly influencing product improvements and future innovations.
- • A significant contribution will be in the development and delivery of comprehensive training and certification programs for our installation partners. You will build and refine training content, ensuring that all third parties are proficient in Motive's installation standards and best practices. This proactive approach to knowledge transfer empowers our partners and guarantees a consistent, high-quality installation experience for our customers.
- • You will also play a key role in enhancing our self-service support resources. This involves collaborating with stakeholders to build and maintain an online installation help center, populated with detailed articles, step-by-step how-to guides, and other essential resources. The goal is to empower installers and support teams with the information they need to resolve issues efficiently and maintain the highest standards of on-site safety.
- • To facilitate your expertise and testing, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a dedicated hardware lab. This lab will serve as your personal testing ground for Motive products, allowing you to thoroughly understand their functionality, identify potential issues, and develop best practices for installation and troubleshooting.
- • The ideal candidate possesses a strong computer electronics background, coupled with extensive hands-on experience in deploying hardware at scale. While experience in the automotive or logistics industry is a significant advantage, a passion for hardware, quality, and problem-solving is paramount. You should be comfortable taking initiative, owning challenges, and working independently while also collaborating effectively with a global team.
- • This role is perfect for an engineer who thrives on hands-on work, enjoys the challenge of field deployments, and is eager to contribute to the growth of a leading technology company. If you are a proactive, quality-driven individual with a knack for enabling others and a passion for cutting-edge technology, we encourage you to apply. Your work will directly impact the operational efficiency, safety, and profitability of our customers across the UK and EU.
- • You will be expected to travel more than 50% of the time, primarily within the UK, to customer sites and partner locations. While the role is remote, candidates located in the Midlands of the UK will have a distinct advantage due to easier access to a wide range of customer locations across the country.
- • Embrace the opportunity to be a role model for technical excellence, demonstrating a commitment to quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in every interaction. Your expertise will be crucial in solidifying Motive's reputation as a leader in physical operations management technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of relevant experience in field engineering, hardware installation, IT administration with a hardware focus, or automotive installation.
- • Strong proficiency in computer electronics and hardware, with a demonstrated ability to understand and work with complex systems.
- • Proven experience in deploying hardware at scale, including installation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
- • Ability to travel over 50% of the time throughout the UK, with a preference for candidates located in the Midlands.
- • Excellent English proficiency; proficiency in Dutch or German is a significant plus.
- • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and 2+ years of relevant experience or certification.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
- • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
- • Company-provided vehicle and fuel card for business travel.
- • Access to cutting-edge technology and tools for your role.
