- • Lead material cost controlling activities for production, including variance analysis, forecasting, and cost‑optimization initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- • Own the planning, monitoring, and reporting of serial material cost performance (standard cost updates, index impacts, and actual‑vs‑plan deviations).
- • Serve as the subject matter expert for serial material cost controlling and related finance processes, including key SAP/IT system integrations.
- • Develop robust business cases (e.g., insourcing, lease‑vs‑buy, make‑or‑buy) to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
- • Partner cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to drive alignment toward long‑term financial and operational targets.
- • Establish and refine planning assumptions, cost drivers, and methodologies used in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning models.
- • Identify, quantify, and report cost‑saving opportunities across both operational and strategic initiatives.
- • Prepare clear, compelling financial presentations for leadership decision‑making forums and milestone reviews.
- • Support the development and continuous improvement of Long‑Range Planning and the annual budget for manufacturing operations.
- • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity across all financial inputs, business cases, and analytical models.
- • Conduct ad‑hoc financial analyses and support special projects as assigned by management.
- • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina, requiring 4 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.
