The ALU Team works from first principles, empowering individuals to design, test, and implement creative new ideas while building something entirely new with passion and dedication to student safety and well-being.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in financial reporting and analysis, strengthen your ability to translate complex financial data into clear narratives for non-finance audiences, gain experience in donor and grant reporting within an international education context, and contribute to strategic decision-making through financial modeling and scenario analysis while partnering with cross-functional teams across academia, fundraising, and operations.

- • 5–7 years of experience in financial management, FP&A, or management reporting with demonstrated business partnering experience
- • Strong financial reporting and analysis skills including variance analysis, management accounts, and Board reporting
- • Experience working with revenue-generating operations such as student fees, subscriptions, or project-based income
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate financial complexity into clear narratives for non-finance audiences
- • Experience managing donor or grant financial reporting including budget vs actuals and utilisation tracking

- • Prior experience in audit (Big Four preferred) or significant exposure to financial close and reporting processes
- • Demonstrated experience supporting or owning month-end close processes in a structured environment
- • High attention to detail with focus on data integrity, controls, and completeness
- • Ability to operate across both analytical (FP&A) and control/reporting environments
- • Comfortable working with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and large datasets with understanding of transaction flow into reporting
- • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to enforce deadlines and challenge slippage constructively
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work with a mission-driven higher education institution focused on developing real-world skills to address global challenges
- • Hybrid work flexibility with options to be based in Mauritius, Rwanda, or remotely
- • Exposure to international development and non-profit financial environments through donor and grant reporting
- • Collaboration with world-class faculty and staff in an innovative academic setting that empowers student-led learning
