• • You will be at the forefront of developing and refining robust payment reconciliation frameworks and critical safeguarding processes. Your expertise will directly contribute to protecting client assets and maintaining the operational excellence of our financial infrastructure.
• • A core responsibility will be to enhance transparency surrounding Airwallex’s global cash positions, funding requirements, potential risk exposures, and the overall control environment. This will be achieved through the creation of consistent, insightful reporting, the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) across all our global entities, and contributing to the standardization and automation of these vital processes.
• • You will conduct in-depth, data-driven financial and reconciliation analysis, focusing on cash flows, payment volumes, safeguarding balances, and identifying significant variances. The ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights is crucial for informing strategic decisions within Treasury, Finance, and across the wider business.
• • This role involves the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of safeguarding and client money controls. This includes meticulous attention to account segregation, rigorous daily reconciliations, proactive variance monitoring, and the development of effective remediation workflows, all to ensure strict compliance with regulatory mandates and our internal risk appetite.
• • A significant aspect of this position is the close collaboration with our Product & Engineering, Operations, and Legal & Compliance teams. You will partner to define precise reconciliation and safeguarding requirements, influence data models and the selection/development of tooling, and architect operational workflows that are designed to scale effectively with the introduction of new products, expansion into new geographies, onboarding of new partners, and evolving regulatory landscapes.
• • You will be a key driver in standardizing and automating processes across Treasury and broader financial operations. This involves streamlining reconciliation and reporting workflows, minimizing manual intervention to reduce operational risk, and actively working to reduce reconciliation backlogs and aging items, thereby improving efficiency and accuracy.
• • The role also requires providing crucial ad hoc support for a variety of Finance and firmwide strategic initiatives. This includes contributing to projects related to new banking partnerships, adapting to regulatory changes, supporting new product launches, and participating in capital and liquidity management projects, demonstrating versatility and a broad understanding of financial operations.
