📋 Description

• Serve as the primary technical authority for post-sales enterprise customers, guiding deployment architecture, environment design, and adoption of Coder’s AI development environment across human and AI coding workflows.
• Own end-to-end onboarding engagements, ensuring customers transition from contract signing to productive, confident adoption of agentic development practices.
• Lead Get Well engagements to resolve architectural, rollout, or organizational barriers limiting customer health, growth, or satisfaction.
• Design and document repeatable delivery patterns for onboarding, architecture, and adoption that scale across diverse customer segments and industries.
• Design and recommend tailored reference architectures aligned with each customer’s cloud environment, security posture, compliance requirements, and organizational constraints.
• Translate complex customer environments into clear technical guidance on networking, ingress, identity, load balancing, DNS resolution, and infrastructure patterns in cloud-native settings.
• Anticipate technical and operational risks during deployments, escalate issues to internal engineering and product teams, and track resolutions to completion.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architecture guides, how-to resources, and statements of work that extend impact beyond individual customers to the broader customer base.
• Capture structured product feedback from real-world deployments and advocate directly with engineering and product teams to influence roadmap priorities and usability improvements.
• Advise customers on implementing technical and organizational changes required to adopt agentic development practices at scale, including governance, audit, and compliance controls.
• Articulate architectural distinctions between workspace-local agent tooling and centralized agentic harnesses, explaining their implications for security, compliance, and operational control.
• Collaborate with customers to navigate organizational change alongside technical change, aligning adoption strategies with team workflows, timelines, and cultural realities.
• Maintain strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage senior infrastructure teams, present complex architectures, and produce clear, actionable documentation.
• Demonstrate high customer empathy by recognizing that optimal technical solutions must align with customer constraints, timelines, and organizational realities.
• Operate autonomously in a startup environment, balancing deep technical execution with strategic pattern design to drive customer outcomes and product evolution.
• Act as a bridge between customer needs and internal product development, ensuring customer feedback directly informs platform improvements and feature priorities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cloud-native technologies, AI agent workflows, and enterprise DevOps practices to provide authoritative guidance across diverse customer contexts.

🎯 Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience in a Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architect, Platform Engineering, or equivalent post-sales technical role with a track record of guiding enterprise customers through complex technical deployments
• Proven hands-on experience designing and deploying cloud infrastructure on at least one major provider: AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
• 2+ years experience deploying or operating AI coding agents in a production or near-production environment, including understanding agent loops, credential storage, and enterprise governance requirements
• 2 or more years of production experience with Kubernetes, including cluster design, workload scheduling, networking, storage, and operational lifecycle
• 2 or more years of experience with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tooling, including enterprise-scale versioning, structuring, and maintenance
• Solid understanding of Linux systems administration, networking fundamentals (ingress controllers, proxies, load balancers, DNS resolution), and cloud-native environments
