• • As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Client Risk team at Airwallex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of how global businesses manage financial crime and credit risk. You will be instrumental in building and enhancing the sophisticated web applications that empower our Risk Operations, Compliance, and internal stakeholders. Your work will directly impact our ability to investigate complex cases, make critical decisions, and effectively manage client risk at a global scale, ensuring the integrity and security of our financial platform.
• • You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of high-quality, scalable frontend applications. These applications are crucial for various Client Risk workflows, including case management, real-time monitoring, in-depth investigations, comprehensive reporting, and essential operational tooling. Your contributions will ensure these systems are robust, performant, and user-friendly.
• • A key aspect of your role will involve close collaboration with Product Managers and Operations teams. You will translate often ambiguous operational challenges and requirements into clear, intuitive, and efficient user experience (UX) flows. These flows must be designed with auditability and compliance at the forefront, meeting the stringent demands of the financial industry.
• • You will take ownership of building foundational frontend elements, including reusable component libraries, shared modules, and established patterns for critical areas like state management, access control, and complex form-heavy workflows. This focus on reusable foundations will drive consistent delivery and maintainability across all our frontend systems, accelerating development and ensuring a unified user experience.
• • Your responsibilities will extend to seamless integration with our backend services, utilizing REST and/or GraphQL APIs. You will ensure the correctness of data contracts, optimize for performance, and guarantee the reliability of these integrations, which are vital for the day-to-day operations of our risk teams.
• • As a senior member of the team, you will actively drive frontend architecture and engineering excellence. This includes spearheading performance optimization initiatives, enhancing observability through robust logging and monitoring, defining and implementing effective testing strategies, ensuring accessibility standards are met, and championing maintainable code practices to foster long-term project health.
• • Cross-functional collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with backend engineers, data scientists, compliance specialists, and other key partners to deliver integrated solutions. Your efforts will directly contribute to achieving measurable operational improvements and strengthening our risk management capabilities globally.
• • While this role is primarily frontend-focused, Airwallex embraces a full-stack mindset for engineers who want to own features end-to-end. We strongly prefer candidates who possess full-stack experience or demonstrate a strong willingness to take on light backend/BFF (Backend For Frontend) tasks when necessary. This could involve developing Node.js BFF endpoints, integrating simple APIs, or making minor schema changes, particularly when using modern coding assistants to expedite delivery. This approach allows for independent end-to-end feature delivery for well-defined backend scopes, always under appropriate review and with strong engineering rigor.
• • You will contribute to the development of a unified, data-driven view of each client by consolidating internal and external insights. This involves working with systems that leverage advanced machine learning and large language models (LLMs) to enhance decision intelligence and automate operational workflows, supporting responsible business growth.
