- • Build and scale backend services that power real-time collaboration for construction teams working on billion-pound infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, and hospitals
- • Architect solutions for complex data synchronisation challenges between multiple construction planning systems to ensure accurate, live updates across distributed teams
- • Create elegant frontend experiences using React and TypeScript that simplify complex workflows for non-technical construction professionals
- • Design and implement WebSocket-based features to enable live, real-time updates across geographically dispersed construction sites and project stakeholders
- • Optimize application performance for systems handling massive project datasets, ensuring responsiveness under high load and low-bandwidth conditions
- • Contribute to a serverless infrastructure and event-driven architecture using modern cloud-native patterns
- • Participate in peer code reviews and help elevate engineering standards across the team through best practices and documentation
- • Collaborate asynchronously with a global engineering team while maintaining strong overlap with Philippines-based colleagues for effective communication
- • Work across the full stack—from user-facing interfaces to backend APIs and data storage layers—to deliver cohesive, scalable solutions
- • Translate complex construction planning requirements into technical implementations that improve productivity for major contractors including BAM, Balfour Beatty, SKANSKA, Kier, MACE, and Murphy
- • Ensure high-quality code delivery through rigorous testing, automated workflows, and continuous feedback loops
- • Maintain and improve the reliability of systems that millions rely on for critical infrastructure delivery
🎯 Requirements
- • Based in the Philippines with reliable internet connection
- • 5 years’ experience in software engineering with skills in JavaScript or TypeScript
- • Deep experience with React and modern frontend patterns, including Redux for state management
- • Proven backend development skills with experience building and scaling production systems
- • Experience with real-time applications and WebSocket implementations
- • Deep understanding of database design and optimisation, with NoSQL experience valued
