Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect the nervous system of a 13-trillion-dollar industry. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, Integrations at Trunk Tools, you will own the design, development, and scaling of the connectors that let our AI agents talk to every scheduling, accounting, and project-management platform on a jobsite. Your code will move millions of data points per day between Procore, Autodesk, Sage, Primavera, and dozens of other systems—turning fragmented spreadsheets into a single, living source of truth for 140,000+ field professionals.
- • Build and harden our next-generation integration platform. You will refactor existing connectors into a self-serve, plug-and-play framework that any customer can configure in minutes. This includes re-imagining authentication flows (OAuth 2.0, SSO, API keys), rate-limiting strategies, idempotent writes, conflict-resolution logic, and real-time webhooks. Expect to write clean, testable TypeScript services in Node/Express, backed by Postgres and Redis, and orchestrated by repeatable Terraform and Docker pipelines.
- • Ship bulletproof data synchronization. Construction never sleeps, so neither can our sync engines. You will design incremental sync jobs, schedule them via BullMQ workers, monitor them with Datadog alerts, and tune them until they run at sub-second latency across thousands of projects. You will also craft retry policies, circuit breakers, and dead-letter queues so that a flaky 3rd-party API never breaks a superintendent’s workflow.
- • Deliver delightful user-facing features. On the front end, you will use React + TypeScript to build dashboards that let customers map fields, preview payloads, and debug sync errors in real time. You will collaborate with our product designer to turn complex ETL flows into intuitive point-and-click experiences, and you will instrument every click with Segment to measure adoption and iterate quickly.
- • Scale for hypergrowth. With 65 employees today and Series B capital in the bank, we are doubling every year. You will evolve our schema, shard our databases, and migrate to event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS) so that we can ingest 10× the data without breaking stride. You will also mentor junior engineers through design reviews and pair programming, raising the bar for code quality across the team.
- • Influence product strategy. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success, translating field feedback into technical roadmaps. Whether it’s adding a new ERP connector or exposing an integration marketplace, your voice will shape what we build next—and your prototypes will prove it works before we invest months of effort.
- • Champion reliability and security. Construction data is mission-critical and often confidential. You will write exhaustive unit/integration tests (>90 % coverage), pen-test your own endpoints, and maintain SOC-2-compliant audit logs. When incidents happen, you will lead blameless post-mortems and turn lessons learned into automated safeguards.
- • Enjoy the ride. We are a tight-knit team that celebrates wins with weekly demos, monthly off-sites, and spontaneous bagel runs. You will work alongside Stanford/MIT alums, former superintendents, and open-source contributors who are all obsessed with modernizing the built world. If you love autonomy, impact, and the occasional hard-hat selfie, you will feel right at home.
