Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the entire lifecycle of Rythm’s internal tooling—from the first whiteboard sketch to production monitoring—so our lab, logistics, customer-care, and operations teams can move faster and make fewer mistakes.
- • Architect and ship HIPAA-compliant, fault-tolerant services in TypeScript (Node/Express) that power dashboards for lab-ops, shipping, inventory, and customer support; every line you write directly reduces the time it takes to get life-changing biomarker results into a patient’s hands.
- • Build pixel-perfect, data-rich React dashboards with React Router 7, React Query, and tRPC that surface real-time metrics (kit status, sample throughput, carrier delays, support tickets) and let non-technical teammates self-serve answers instead of pinging engineers.
- • Extend our mobile stack (React Native) with internal companion apps for warehouse scanning, courier hand-offs, and on-the-road troubleshooting—turning phones into reliable, barcode-driven field terminals.
- • Design Postgres schemas and Redis caching layers that ingest thousands of daily lab results, shipping events, and customer interactions while staying lightning-fast and fully auditable under HIPAA.
- • Write exhaustive tests in Vitest/Cypress and set up continuous deployment pipelines so every internal tool ships with confidence and can be rolled back in seconds if anything goes sideways.
- • Document architecture decisions, API contracts, and run-books in Notion so future teammates (or you in six months) can ramp up in hours, not weeks.
- • Collaborate daily with lab directors, logistics coordinators, and support leads to turn messy real-world workflows into elegant, automated software—expect to sit in on kit-assembly lines and carrier pickups to see pain points firsthand.
- • Champion privacy and security best practices: encrypt PII at rest, scrub logs, and conduct quarterly threat-modeling sessions so our internal tools never become the weakest link.
- • Use AI coding assistants as accelerators—never autopilots—to prototype faster, generate test cases, and refactor legacy code, while always keeping a human in the loop for critical decisions.
- • Mentor junior contractors and interns when they occasionally join sprints, reviewing PRs with empathy and raising the bar for code quality across the company.
- • Iterate relentlessly: measure dashboard usage with PostHog, cut features that don’t move the needle, and double-down on workflows that save hours per week for operations staff.
- • Work fully remote across U.S. time zones, with the autonomy to set your own schedule while staying available for a daily 30-minute team stand-up and occasional on-call rotation (once every 6–8 weeks).
- • Influence product direction by presenting data-driven proposals to the co-founders—your “quick script” today could become the backbone of how Rythm scales to 10× volume next year.
