- • Own the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of high-impact product features across Workato’s AI-powered enterprise orchestration platform, serving thousands of global customers who depend on our low-code / no-code integrations to run mission-critical workflows.
- • Architect scalable, secure, and observable micro-services in Ruby on Rails and Node.js, while crafting pixel-perfect, accessible React interfaces that delight both technical and non-technical users.
- • Lead cross-functional squads of product managers, designers, QA, and DevOps to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions—turning technology complexity into business opportunity.
- • Drive the evolution of our event-driven, multi-tenant architecture, optimizing for sub-second latency, 99.9 % uptime, and horizontal scale across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- • Champion code quality through rigorous automated testing (RSpec, Jest, Cypress), peer reviews, and continuous deployment pipelines that ship to production multiple times per day.
- • Instrument and monitor every layer of the stack—Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus—ensuring proactive detection and rapid resolution of performance bottlenecks or security anomalies.
- • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers via pair programming, architecture reviews, and career-development plans, cultivating a culture of curiosity, craftsmanship, and inclusive collaboration.
- • Collaborate with the AI/ML team to embed predictive insights, anomaly detection, and intelligent recommendations directly into the product experience, helping customers navigate complex workflows in real-time.
- • Contribute to open-source projects and internal SDKs that extend the Workato ecosystem, amplifying our impact across the broader integration and automation community.
- • Partner with Customer Success to troubleshoot escalated production issues, translating real-world pain points into roadmap priorities and measurable improvements.
- • Own the full SDLC from ideation to deprecation, writing clear technical specs, running blameless post-mortems, and maintaining comprehensive documentation that empowers future contributors.
- • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies—GraphQL, WebAssembly, serverless patterns—and run pragmatic experiments that keep Workato at the forefront of enterprise orchestration.
- • Uphold security-first development practices, ensuring SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA compliance across every pull request and infrastructure change.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of professional experience building and shipping production-grade web applications in Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React preferred).
- • Proven track record of designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs that scale to millions of requests per day, with deep understanding of distributed systems, caching, and database optimization (PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch).
- • Demonstrated expertise in cloud-native architectures on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, EKS) or equivalent GCP/Azure services, including Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- • Strong grasp of security best practices—OWASP Top 10, encryption at rest/in transit, secrets management, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or HIPAA.
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with workflow automation, iPaaS, or ETL platforms; contributions to open-source; prior remote-first team leadership.
