📋 Description
- • As a Senior Game Data Analyst at Sony Interactive Entertainment, you will partner with game teams and publishing stakeholders to answer complex questions about player behavior, feature performance, commercial outcomes, and long-term game health, directly influencing decisions for beloved PlayStation franchises like Uncharted, The Last of Us, and God of War.
- • You will lead analysis across player behavior, feature and content performance, monetization, and game health; turn ambiguous design and product questions into clear analytical plans; develop proxy metrics for player-experience goals; combine telemetry, playtests, surveys, and sentiment to evaluate feature impact; apply judgment to imperfect evidence; support commercial questions around launch and acquisition; build dashboards and analytical frameworks; and communicate insights clearly across cross-functional teams including design, product, engineering, and leadership.
- • You will join the Games and Publishing Analytics team within Sony Interactive Entertainment, a dynamic technology company behind the PlayStation brand, working with legendary studios to deliver data-informed decisions from early development through launch for some of the most recognizable IPs in entertainment.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in game analytics, sharpen your ability to translate messy questions into actionable insight, and grow your influence in shaping player experiences and commercial strategies for live service and shipped games, while working with cutting-edge tools and methodologies in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large behavioral datasets, especially event-level gameplay data
- • Strong exploratory analysis skills and the ability to turn raw gameplay data into clear insight
- • Experience analyzing player behavior and game systems, including progression, combat, economy, difficulty, matchmaking, feature adoption, engagement, retention, or segmentation
- • Experience partnering directly with designers, producers, product managers, researchers, engineers, or game leadership
- • Ability to distinguish between similar-looking behavioral signals, such as challenge versus frustration, friction versus intentional difficulty, novelty versus durable engagement, or confusion versus experimentation
- • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain what the data supports, what remains uncertain, and what teams should do next
- • A background in statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or another applied quantitative discipline
- • 4+ years of analytics experience in the games industry, ideally supporting game development, live operations, player behavior analysis, feature evaluation, or gameplay systems
- • 2+ years of experience working on a shipped game, live service game, or game team operating through rapid development cycles such as playtests, launch, live events, or content releases
- • Familiarity with the realities of game development, including changing priorities, incomplete information, telemetry gaps, cross-functional dependencies, and decisions that cannot wait for perfect data
