- • Senior Global Finance Manager at Octopus Energy Ltd. plays a critical role in strengthening financial governance and control across the company’s expanding UK and international operations, ensuring consistency, compliance, and scalability in financial reporting as the business grows globally.
- • This role is pivotal in supporting strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, business restructurings, and the launch of new lines of business by providing rigorous financial analysis, technical accounting review, and risk assessment to enable informed decision-making at the Group level.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include working closely with the Group Financial Controller to design, implement, and monitor Group-wide financial controls, policies, and procedures that align with both UK GAAP and IFRS standards across multiple jurisdictions.
- • The Senior Global Finance Manager will partner with local finance teams in international territories to assess current finance structures, identify gaps, and drive improvements in processes, systems, and capabilities to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- • A key aspect of the role involves conducting technical reviews of complex financial transactions, including M&A activities, joint ventures, and new market entries, ensuring proper accounting treatment, disclosure, and integration into Group financial statements.
- • The role requires proactive identification and mitigation of audit risks through robust internal controls, documentation, and collaboration with external auditors to support clean audit opinions and regulatory compliance.
- • The incumbent will contribute to the continuous improvement of financial close processes, management reporting, and budgeting/forecasting cycles, leveraging automation and best practices to increase efficiency and insight.

🎯 Requirements
- • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in financial reporting, management accounting, or audit.
- • Proven experience working in large, fast-paced, multinational organisations with exposure to international accounting standards (IFRS and/or local GAAP) and complex financial structures.
- • Hands-on experience identifying audit risks, designing and implementing internal controls, and driving accounting consistency and excellence across business units.
- • Strong technical accounting background with direct involvement in M&A, restructuring, or new business initiative accounting reviews.
- • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with finance teams, operations leaders, and external auditors across different cultures and time zones.
- • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
