With a proven track record of facilitating trillions of dollars in value transfer and supporting millions of daily transactions for major global institutions, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Go Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of our next-generation financial infrastructure.
• As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in the creation and evolution of OMSX, serving as the unified gateway and dashboard for the Polygon Open Money Stack. This pivotal role involves designing and implementing the backend systems that form the core of our financial infrastructure, enabling developers and enterprises to seamlessly integrate with our payment, wallet, and other onchain services. This is a unique greenfield opportunity where you will have the chance to architect and build high-scale backend systems from the ground up. You will be working on infrastructure capable of processing hundreds of millions to billions in transaction volume, directly influencing how developers engage with the Polygon Labs ecosystem and shaping the future of onchain finance. Your contributions will be critical in establishing the foundational elements of a platform poised to power global money movement.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass the end-to-end design and implementation of robust backend systems that underpin OMSX and the wider Polygon Open Money Stack. A primary focus will be on ensuring exceptional scalability, unwavering reliability, and a superior developer experience. You will be tasked with designing and implementing highly scalable Go services engineered to handle demanding, high-throughput financial workloads, ensuring that our systems can manage peak transaction volumes with efficiency and stability. A key part of your role will involve building and maintaining robust APIs that facilitate seamless integration across a diverse range of internal services and external financial systems, creating a cohesive and interconnected financial network. You will develop sophisticated backend systems capable of processing and managing large datasets, with an unwavering commitment to maintaining high performance and stringent reliability requirements, ensuring data integrity and operational continuity.
• Furthermore, you will be responsible for optimizing PostgreSQL queries and refining data models to support high-scale production environments, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage. Implementing advanced caching strategies and performance enhancements using cutting-edge technologies such as Redis will be crucial for maximizing system responsiveness and throughput. You will play a vital role in enhancing system observability by implementing structured logging, comprehensive metrics, and effective monitoring solutions, providing deep insights into system performance and health. Collaboration will be a cornerstone of your work, as you will work closely with frontend and platform teams to deliver a unified and seamless developer and user experience, ensuring that our platform is intuitive and powerful.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years working with Go in production environments.
• Strong experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems and APIs.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, including query optimization and experience working with large datasets.
• Experience with caching strategies and systems such as Redis.
• Proven ability to build systems from scratch and operate independently in fast-paced environments.
• Solid understanding of system design, data flows, and service-to-service integrations.
