- • Work across the full stack to design, build, and launch features and experiments that drive user growth, engagement, and revenue for ClassDojo’s global K-12 education platform.
- • Deploy production code daily in a pair programming environment, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to rapidly iterate on high-impact initiatives.
- • Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and product experiments that have historically driven scale from 10 million to over 100 million active users.
- • Own the technical infrastructure and tooling for experimentation, including tracking, metrics definition, statistical analysis, and result interpretation.
- • Translate growth hypotheses into technical specifications and implement scalable solutions that serve millions of students, teachers, and parents across 180 countries.
- • Champion a world-class engineering culture focused on rapid iteration, code quality, testing, and collaboration, while mentoring junior engineers.
- • Work on production systems used daily by over 45 million children and their families, directly influencing educational outcomes and school-community communication.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities rooted in user behavior, retention, onboarding, and virality within the education ecosystem.
- • Maintain and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of core features that power ClassDojo’s communication and learning experiences.
- • Contribute to technical debt reduction and system improvements that enable faster experimentation cycles and more accurate data collection.
- • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with engineering best practices and company-wide goals.
- • Ensure all growth initiatives comply with privacy standards and ethical guidelines for working with children’s data in K-12 education.
- • Maintain significant daily overlap with Americas time zones to enable real-time collaboration with distributed teams across North and South America.
- • Stay current with industry trends in growth engineering, behavioral psychology, and educational technology to inform experiment design and technical strategy.
- • Balance short-term growth wins with long-term product health, ensuring sustainable user acquisition and retention without compromising user trust or experience.
- • Use data-driven insights to prioritize initiatives with the highest potential impact on global user growth and educational equity.
- • Contribute to the evolution of ClassDojo’s engineering culture by advocating for transparency, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with several years focused on Growth Engineering or A/B Testing
- • Proven track record of generating and executing product experiments that drove significant scale in users and revenue for a company growing from 10M to 100M+ active users
- • Experience building and maintaining technical tooling and processes for experimentation, including tracking systems and statistical analysis frameworks
- • Strong ownership mindset with comfort in both responsibility and accountability for end-to-end feature delivery
- • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with frequent deployments and pair programming
- • Passion for education and desire to impact the lives of tens of millions of children globally
