📋 Description
- • Senior HR/People Ops Specialist – Payroll, Benefits & Compliance at Mimica Automation Ltd. is a high-impact role critical to the company’s transition from Employer of Record (EOR) to a fully owned local entity in Costa Rica, ensuring payroll accuracy, statutory compliance, and seamless employee lifecycle management for ~200 employees.
- • You will own end-to-end HR operations including pre-hire compliance, payroll processing, benefits administration, leave management, and employee query resolution, serving as the trusted expert on Costa Rican labor law and regulatory requirements from CCSS, MTSS, DGT, and INS.
- • The People Operations team at Mimica is building scalable, compliant HR infrastructure to support rapid growth, and you will play a foundational role in shaping local HR practices, processes, and systems as the company transitions to direct employment.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in Costa Rican employment law, payroll reconciliation, benefits administration, and HRIS data integrity, positioning yourself to grow into a regional People Operations leader as the company scales.
- • You will ensure payroll runs are accurate and on time, compliance risks are proactively identified and resolved, employee data is clean and audit-ready, and employee inquiries are handled with clarity and confidence — directly impacting employee trust and operational stability.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting right-to-work checks, preparing and validating contracts, managing joiner/leaver/change transactions, submitting payroll inputs, auditing provider outputs, managing social security and tax withholdings (including cesantías and liquidaciones), administering private and statutory benefits, overseeing statutory and company leave processes, resolving employee queries on payslips and taxes, monitoring regulatory changes, supporting audits and statutory filings, and maintaining structured employee data across HRIS and payroll systems.
- • Success is defined by error-free payroll runs, zero compliance escalations, timely and accurate employee support, audit-ready data systems, and smooth lifecycle operations — all contributing to a trusted, efficient People function that enables Mimica’s mission to transform work through AI-powered process intelligence.
