- • Design, develop, and maintain HL7 v2 and FHIR interfaces between Rad AI’s AI-powered radiology platform and customers’ clinical data systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and compliance with healthcare integration standards.
- • Lead the standardization of interface specifications across Rad AI’s product suite, creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for internal teams and external clients.
- • Serve as the primary technical point of contact during end-to-end customer implementations, guiding client IT teams through configuration, testing, and validation of data mappings and message flows.
- • Perform rigorous testing and troubleshooting of HL7 and FHIR integrations using log analysis, SQL queries, and manual validation to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and system compatibility.
- • Monitor interface health in production environments, implement alerting mechanisms, and respond to incidents to maintain system reliability and minimize downtime for clinical users.
- • Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and QA teams to identify integration bottlenecks, propose enhancements, and implement custom functionality tailored to customer needs.
- • Provide post-go-live technical support to customers, resolving complex interface issues related to data mapping, message routing, and system interoperability.
- • Mentor and upskill junior implementation engineers and teammates on HL7 and FHIR best practices, serving as a subject matter expert within the organization.
- • Work directly with healthcare system IT departments, radiology groups, and vendor partners to understand clinical workflows and translate their integration requirements into technical solutions.
- • Participate in customer implementation planning, test case design, and UAT coordination to ensure successful deployment and adoption of Rad AI’s software in live clinical environments.
- • Stay current with evolving healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, SNOMED, LOINC) and industry regulations (HIPAA, ONC Cures Act) to ensure all integrations remain compliant and future-proof.
- • Document lessons learned and operational procedures to improve scalability of implementation processes as Rad AI rapidly expands its customer base across the U.S.
- • Assist in onboarding new clients by configuring interfaces, validating data feeds, and facilitating communication between Rad AI’s engineering team and customer technical stakeholders.
- • Actively contribute to improving internal tools, scripts, and automation frameworks that streamline interface deployment, reduce manual effort, and increase implementation speed.
- • Maintain a high degree of attention to detail in validating complex data mappings between disparate healthcare systems, ensuring zero loss or corruption of critical radiology report data.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in HL7 v2 interfacing
- • Proven technical background comfortable reading logs, source code, and querying databases using SQL
- • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and XML
- • Familiarity or experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and/or Python
- • Strong understanding of the Healthcare IT ecosystem and major clinical and system integration points
- • A desire to become an expert with FHIR
