- • Design and engineer Off-Air (Bi-Directional Amplifier) and Active Distributed Antenna System (DAS) solutions for buildings, tunnels, and large venues including hospitals, prisons, multi-story buildings, and stadiums.
- • Conduct on-site surveys to gather technical requirements and assess wireless coverage needs for public safety and commercial clients.
- • Utilize iBwave Enterprise design software to create detailed system designs, including building modeling, DAS equipment placement, cable routing, RF prediction maps, and compliance documentation.
- • Ensure all DAS designs comply with IFC, NFPA, and other applicable regulatory codes for public safety and cellular communications.
- • Design in-building wireless systems supporting LTE/5G cellular networks, P25 public safety land mobile radio (LMR) systems, and frequencies including 700 MHz, 800 MHz, UHF, and VHF.
- • Implement off-air Part 20 Cellular RF source designs and direct connect single-carrier and multi-carrier (Neutral Host) DAS architectures.
- • Optimize system performance within iBwave software and troubleshoot coverage, capacity, and interference issues.
- • Collaborate with Project Managers, field installers, and DAS stakeholders to ensure accurate deployment and successful project execution.
- • Provide technical documentation, commissioning support, and post-installation troubleshooting for completed DAS installations.
- • Interface with Motorola Solutions Direct Sales and Channel Partners to conduct customer-facing design reviews, requirements gathering, and training sessions.
- • Stay current with evolving wireless technologies, industry standards, and advancements in Bi-Directional Amplifiers and Active DAS platforms.
- • Use RF test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, TDR, OTDR, and PIM testers to validate system performance.
- • Interpret cable test results and possess hands-on experience with installation and termination of fiber optic and coaxial cabling.
- • Travel up to 25% to customer sites for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolution of DAS coverage issues.
- • Maintain strong technical writing skills to produce clear design reports, compliance documentation, and project deliverables.
- • Demonstrate proficiency with vendor equipment platforms such as Solid, JMA, ADRF, Avari, Comba, and Nextivity.
- • Utilize Google Suite for documentation and collaboration, where applicable.
