Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Design, build, and maintain Somnia’s core infrastructure including L1 node fleets, RPC layers, indexing services, and developer-facing backend systems.
- • Define and enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets to ensure measurable reliability across all production systems.
- • Implement and manage observability pipelines using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent tools to detect regressions before users are impacted.
- • Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi) and configuration management practices.
- • Own end-to-end deployment processes including progressive delivery, canary releases, safe migrations, and automated rollbacks to minimize production risk.
- • Operate and optimize high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems supporting blockchain nodes, validators, and indexing services across multiple regions.
- • Lead incident response during production outages, conduct blameless postmortems, and implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
- • Collaborate with product and protocol engineering teams to design production-ready services that meet scalability, security, and performance requirements.
- • Build self-service platforms and golden paths that enable other engineering teams to deploy, monitor, and recover systems without manual intervention.
- • Rotate between embedded support roles with product teams and centralized platform engineering to align infrastructure with evolving product needs.
- • Continuously improve infrastructure automation, cost efficiency, and operational resilience through AI-driven tooling and process innovation.
- • Maintain deep Linux system knowledge and apply it to troubleshoot, tune, and harden production environments at scale.
- • Develop internal tooling and automation scripts using Go and/or TypeScript to streamline operations and reduce toil.
- • Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance and cost across global regions, ensuring optimal resource utilization and redundancy.
- • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical infrastructure systems.
- • Stay aligned with Web3 infrastructure trends and contribute to the evolution of Somnia’s blockchain node stack and developer tooling.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong experience operating production infrastructure at scale (cloud and/or bare metal), with deep Linux fundamentals.
- • Experience with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or Pulumi, alongside configuration management.
- • Experience running containers and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) in production.
- • Strong programming skills, ideally in Go and/or TypeScript, for building automation and internal tooling.
- • Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or equivalents).
- • Experience operating and monitoring distributed systems, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
- • Comfortable operating in high-stakes production environments and responding to incidents.
- • Genuine interest in crypto and on-chain systems.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary + token incentives.
- • Remote work with a global team.
- • Opportunity to build the first hyperspeed L1 with native AI inference.
- • Influence a brand with a $1M+ launch budget targeting the 2026 peak-fragility market.
