📋 Description

• As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Scrunch, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and operating the foundational systems that power an AI-first marketing platform used by Fortune 500 brands and innovative startups, directly enabling how companies are discovered and understood in the era of LLMs and AI agents.
• You will own end-to-end infrastructure responsibilities—from cloud architecture and developer tooling to observability and reliability—ensuring the platform scales securely and efficiently to meet growing customer demand while maintaining high performance and resilience.
• Your work will have tangible business impact, as Scrunch’s infrastructure is mission-critical: customers depend on it daily, and your contributions will shape how the company scales its AI-powered services with reliability and innovation.
• Day to day, you will design and implement scalable cloud services on GCP, leveraging infrastructure-as-code (primarily Terraform) to version, test, and deploy systems through automation, eliminating manual console-driven changes.
• You will deploy and operate edge compute functions, making informed decisions about when to execute logic at the edge versus in centralized systems to optimize latency, cost, and performance for AI workloads.
• You will monitor, diagnose, and resolve database performance bottlenecks, applying scaling patterns and optimization techniques to prevent outages and ensure low-latency access to critical data.
• You will design and maintain reliable, retryable asynchronous pipelines using workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect, Airflow, Temporal, or Inngest, ensuring data and job processing is fault-tolerant and observable.
• You will build and enhance observable systems by implementing structured logging, distributed tracing, custom metrics, and actionable alerting to enable rapid debugging and proactive issue resolution.
• You will write production-quality Python code to extend infrastructure tooling, automate workflows, and build internal platforms, applying software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• You will collaborate closely with software engineers, data engineers, and product teams to align infrastructure capabilities with product roadmaps, enabling faster feature delivery and system evolution.
• You will participate in on-call rotations and incident response, contributing to a culture of reliability and continuous improvement through blameless postmortems and resilience engineering.
• You will mentor junior engineers and advocate for infrastructure excellence, helping to establish standards, documentation, and shared ownership across the team.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience designing, building, and operating cloud services at scale, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, treating infrastructure as versioned, tested, and deployed software
• Strong understanding of database performance and scaling patterns, with proven ability to identify and resolve bottlenecks before they cause outages
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration or job queue systems (e.g., Prefect, Airflow, Temporal, Inngest) and experience designing reliable, async pipelines
• Solid foundation in observability, including structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting in production systems
• Comfort writing production-quality Python code and approaching infrastructure work with a software engineering mindset
