- • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Institutional Brokerage Sales professional to join our dynamic Brokerage Sales Team. This team is instrumental in driving client growth across all facets of the SFR transaction lifecycle, including acquisitions, dispositions, bulk syndication, and title & escrow services. In a competitive landscape featuring national tech-enabled brokerages, institutional-focused platforms, and agile local operators, our mission is clear: to become the indispensable first call for every institutional investor transacting at scale.
- • As a Senior Institutional Brokerage Sales representative, your role transcends traditional sales. You will function as a strategic advisor, building deep, trusted relationships with institutional and scaled SFR operators. You will operate at the critical nexus of strategy, data analysis, and operational execution, leveraging Mainstay's cutting-edge technology to deliver exceptional and differentiated outcomes for our clientele.
- • Your primary responsibilities will include proactively pitching and onboarding new institutional clients onto Mainstay’s sophisticated transaction platform. Simultaneously, you will be tasked with aggressively expanding our "share of wallet" within existing accounts, identifying and capitalizing on every opportunity to deepen our engagement and value proposition.
- • A key aspect of this role involves utilizing Mainstay's powerful portfolio and market insights to proactively identify lucrative acquisition and disposition opportunities for your clients. This requires a keen understanding of market dynamics and the ability to translate data into actionable investment strategies.
- • You will serve as the primary escalation point for complex, in-flight deal issues. This demands exceptional composure, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to navigate challenging situations with a client-centric approach, ensuring resolution and maintaining client trust.
- • Furthermore, you will act as the crucial "voice of the client" within Mainstay. Your frontline feedback and insights will be invaluable in influencing and guiding our Product and Data Science teams, driving continuous improvement and evolution of our platform to better meet the needs of sophisticated investors.
- • A significant part of your contribution will involve translating complex data sets into clear, actionable insights. You will expertly utilize tools like Excel and Slides to present these findings, enabling clients to make informed, strategic decisions that drive their business forward.

- • Conversely, this role is not suited for individuals who prefer a passive approach to lead generation, find data analysis tedious, struggle with ambiguity, or prefer working in isolation. Success at Mainstay hinges on proactive engagement, data fluency, adaptability, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in SFR brokerage, institutional residential real estate, or a closely related transaction sales role (e.g., Financial sales & trading, commercial RE brokerage, appraisal/valuation, title, commodities/freight).
- • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing relationships with sophisticated, scaled institutional operators.
- • Advanced Excel modeling skills and strong "data fluency" to derive strategic conclusions from raw information.
- • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with and influence internal Operations, Product, and Data Science teams.
- • Exceptional presentation skills and the interpersonal skills to maintain frequent, high-value touchpoints with senior clients.
- • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
