- • Join Heidi Health, a pioneering healthtech startup revolutionizing healthcare with an AI Care Partner, and play a pivotal role as a Senior iOS Engineer. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of a native iOS application that empowers clinicians worldwide, giving them back invaluable time to focus on patient care. You will be instrumental in developing robust architecture and building reliable, scalable systems that form the backbone of our innovative AI product, directly impacting millions of patient visits across 116 countries.
- • As a Senior iOS Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will be multifaceted and impactful. You will take the lead in the development of Heidi’s native iOS application, fostering close collaboration with product managers, designers, and machine learning engineers to translate complex requirements into seamless user experiences. A significant part of your role will involve owning the entire end-to-end mobile experience, encompassing everything from the initial architectural design and meticulous implementation to ensuring optimal performance and rigorous testing. You will be tasked with enhancing the reliability and accuracy of critical core features, including real-time transcription, intelligent note generation, and seamless integrations with diverse health systems. Furthermore, you will champion and advocate for the highest standards of engineering practices, prioritizing performance optimization and accessibility to ensure our application is both powerful and inclusive for all users. Your collaborative spirit will be essential as you work across various teams to identify and deliver features that bring about a tangible positive impact on healthcare delivery. A key aspect of your contribution will also involve actively participating in the improvement of our iOS developer ecosystem, helping to nurture and grow the team as we scale.
- • Heidi Health is at the forefront of transforming healthcare by building an AI Care Partner that enhances continuous and deeply human care. We are a dynamic and diverse team comprising experienced doctors, engineers, designers, researchers, and creatives, all united by a shared mission to develop tools that enable clinicians to dedicate their focus to what matters most: their patients. In a remarkably short period, Heidi has already given back over 18 million hours to healthcare professionals and supported an astounding 73 million patient visits globally. With substantial backing of nearly $100 million in funding, we are experiencing rapid growth across the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, forging strategic partnerships with leading health systems such as the NHS, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Monash Health.
- • In this role, you will have the unparalleled opportunity to learn from and collaborate with the engineering masterminds behind Heidi's groundbreaking AI products, contributing directly to the transformation of healthcare. You will gain deep insights into the nuances and complexities of developing an AI product for international healthcare markets, honing your skills in bridging the gap between technical specifics and business needs. By turning high-level designs into real-world solutions, you will develop a strong sense of ownership and autonomy. You will thrive in challenging situations, appreciating the dynamics of a flexible, flat-structured work environment where ideas are valued based on merit. This position offers the chance to become an owner of the company, receiving shares (equity) that align your success with Heidi's growth. Moreover, you will experience the rare opportunity to create a global impact within one of Australia’s leading healthtech startups, with the potential for a fast-tracked startup career if you make a significant impact quickly.
- • Your expertise will be crucial in leading the development of Heidi’s native iOS app, ensuring its architecture is robust, scalable, and maintainable. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of mobile features, from conception through to deployment and ongoing optimization. This includes diving deep into areas like real-time audio processing and transcription, ensuring high fidelity and low latency. You will also play a key role in integrating our platform with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other health IT infrastructure, requiring a strong understanding of data security and interoperability standards within the healthcare domain. Your advocacy for engineering best practices will extend to performance tuning, memory management, and ensuring the app adheres to accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG), making it usable for a wide range of clinicians. You will collaborate closely with the ML team to integrate on-device machine learning models, leveraging frameworks like Core ML to enhance features such as diagnostic assistance or patient data summarization. Furthermore, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies (unit, integration, UI tests), and developer tooling, making the iOS development process more efficient and reliable for the entire team. Your ability to troubleshoot complex issues, often under pressure, and provide clear, concise technical explanations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be paramount. You will also be involved in mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team. The insights gained from working on an AI-driven healthcare product will provide a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of technology and medicine, positioning you at the forefront of healthtech innovation.
- • The company culture at Heidi emphasizes building for longevity, with a strong focus on safety and reliability, ensuring that clinicians, patients, and the internal team can place their trust in the products developed. The principle of 'Own Your Practice' highlights that ideas are judged on their merit, irrespective of title, and that everyone shares accountability for the high standards set. 'Move Fast, Stay Steady' encapsulates the approach of rapid progress without compromising trust, emphasizing that advancement is only meaningful if people can depend on the outcomes. Finally, 'Make Others Better' underscores the commitment to fostering growth through honest feedback, consistent support, and shared learning experiences, ensuring the continuous improvement of all teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building native iOS apps using Swift and UIKit (SwiftUI is a plus).
